Özel olarak ise Niğde'deki sanayi işçilerinin sosyal hareketliliği ele alınmaktadır. Çalışmanın birincil amacı Niğde özelinde sanayi işçilerinin sosyal hareketlilik pratiklerini incelemektir. İkincil amacı, Niğde'deki sanayi işçilerinin şu anda bulundukları toplumsal ve mesleki konumlarını kalıcı mı yoksa geçici bir süreliğine katlandıkları, daha üst konumlara ulaşmak için bir "sınıf atlama" aracı olarak görüp görmediklerini ortaya çıkarmaktır. Çalışma, Niğde ilindeki tekstil fabrikalarında çalışan işçilerle yürütülen derinlemesine görüşmelere dayanmaktadır. Bu araştırma üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölüm kavramsal ve kuramsal çerçevedir. Alt başlıklarında ise toplumsal olarak sınıf kavramı ve işçi sınıfından, sosyal hareketlilikten, sosyal hareketlilik çalışmalarından, Türkiye'nin toplumsal yapısı ve sınıflardan, Türkiye'de "sınıf atlama" mekanizmalarından bahsedilmiştir. İkinci bölümde araştırmanın yapıldığı ilin sosyal yapısından bahsedilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde ise araştırmanın bulgularından, katılımcıların demografik bilgilerinden, işçilerin iş başvuru süreçlerinden, işçilerin geçmişteki mesleki hayallerinden, işçilerin yaptıkları işlerde yükselme durumları ve sınıf atlamalarından, işçilere göre eğitimin öneminden, işçilerin hem kendilerinden hem de çocuklarından geleceğe dair beklenti ve hayallerinden, işçilerin sendika ve sendikal faaliyetler hakkındaki görüşlerinden, işçilerin boş zaman faaliyetlerinden ve işçilerin yemek alışkanlıkları ve müzik zevklerinden bahsetmektedir. Sonuç olarak, incelenen bulgular doğrultusunda işçilerin sınıf atlama mekanizmasına ilişkin imkanlarının ve umutlarının olmadığı ve bu hareketliliğin mekanizmaları hakkında yeterli bilgiye sahip olmadıkları görülmüştür. İşçiler sosyal hareketliliği daha çok çocukları üzerinden anlamlandırmaktadırlar. In particular, the social mobility of industrial workers in Niğde is discussed. The primary purpose of the study is to examine the social mobility practices of industrial workers in Niğde. Its secondary aim is to find out whether the industrial workers in Niğde see their current social and professional position as a means of "class jumping" to reach higher positions, whether they endure permanently or temporarily. The study is based on in-depth interviews with workers working in textile factories in Niğde province. This research consists of three parts. The first part is the conceptual and theoretical framework. In the sub-headings, the concept of social class and the working class, social mobility, social mobility studies, Turkey's social structure and classes, and "class-skipping" mechanisms in Turkey are mentioned. In the second part, the social structure of the province where the research was conducted was mentioned. In the third part, the findings of the research, the demographic information of the participants, the job application processes of the workers, the past professional dreams of the workers, the promotion status of the workers and their grade jumps, the importance of education according to the workers, the expectations and dreams of the workers about the future from both themselves and their children, the union and union relations of the workers. He talks about his views on the activities, the leisure activities of the workers and the food habits and musical tastes of the workers. As a result, in line with the findings examined, it has been seen that the workers do not have the opportunities and hopes for the upgrading mechanism and they do not have enough information about the mechanisms of this mobility. Workers interpret social mobility mostly through their children.
