Talc is extremely sophisticated mineral filler that is made use of in a wide variety of industrial applications in paper, cosmetics, paints, ceramics, refractory materials and pharmaceuticals. Grinding behavior of submicron particles in stirred media mill and the minimum achievable submicron particle size are seriously affected by the suspension stability. In this work, the influences of suspension pH on stability of submicron talc particles were investigated. Suspensions were produced by wet grinding in the stirred mill. The effect of pH was investigated by the experiments carried out at five pH values (5, 6.5, 8, 9.5 and 11) and it was determined that the size reduction was affected by pH of the suspension.
