Although the proposed EBG, which consists of two microstrip open-loop resonators located back to back, has only one unit cell inserted into the microstrip; it produces the characteristics of the general EBG structure, that is, slow wave and wide band gap. Simulations and measurements have shown that the stop-band center frequency and the bandwidth of stop band depend on the widths of strips of the proposed EBG.
