The characteristics of a culture also determine the cultural communication codes. Individuals learn the codes in the process of entering the culture. Therefore, each culture has its own communication codes. For this reason, individuals do not perceive or misinterpret the messages sent with different communication styles from their own codes. If the participants of the communication are from different cultures, the size of misunderstandings can be bigger. This situation makes it difficult to establish effective intercultural communication. Besides, individuals who encounter different cultures might experience some difficulties and emotional breakdowns while corresponding to this new culture. A new cultural adaptation process does not take place directly, but it is in certain stages. In this process of extending from ethnocentrism to ethnorelativism, there are many factors that enable individuals to adapt to the new culture. In this context, in this study examines the factors which affect effective communication in intercultural encounters and how the intercultural sensitivity development process was handled in the Indian film PK. In the study, firstly communication styles and Milton Bennett's Development Model of Intercultural Sensitivity were mentioned, and then the PK film was analyzed through these concepts.trinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessCultureIntercultural CommunicationIntercultural SensitivityCommunication StylesINVESTIGATION OF COMMUNICATION STYLES AND INTERCULTURAL SENSITIVITY DEVELOPMENT PROCESS ON PK MOVIESArticle8243744610.7456/10802100/020WOS:000433658800020N/A
