Yerel halka konum itibariyle de yakınlıklarından dolayı, yerel yönetimler, merkezi yönetimlere göre çok daha kısa sürelerde yoksullukla mücadele sorumluluklarını yerine getirebilmektedir. Bu çalışmada, yoksulluk ve yoksulluk nedenleri üzerinde durulmuş, yoksullukla mücadele konusunda yerel yönetimlerin rol ve sorumlulukları ele alınarak Ankara örneği üzerinden yerel yönetimlerin yoksullukla mücadele kapsamında yürüttükleri çalışma faaliyetleri ve yoksulluğun önüne geçebilme çalışmaları incelenmiştir. Bu bağlamda, yoksullukla mücadelede yerel yönetimlerin çalışmaları referans tutularak, yoksullukla mücadele konusunda tüm yerel yönetimlere, yeni çalışmalar için öneriler oluşturulmuştur. Due to their proximity to the local community, local governments can fulfill their responsibilities to fight poverty in much shorter periods than central governments. In this study, poverty and poverty causes are emphasized. Taking into consideration the roles and responsibilities of local governments in combating poverty, the work activities carried out by local governments within the scope of combating poverty and the efforts to prevent poverty were examined. In this ivontext, the work of local governments in reference to fighting poverty is taken as reference and suggestions for new work are developed for all local governments on combating poverty.
