Reel sayılar kümesinin bir A alt kümesinden reel sayılar kümesi içine bir f fonksiyonu eğer quasi cauchy dizilerini quasi cauchy dizilerine dönüştürüyorsa , yani A da olan her (?n) quasi cauchy dizisi için (f(?n)) dönüşüm diziside quasi cauchy oluyorsa f fonksiyonuna ward süreklidir denir. Reel sayılar kümesinin bir A alt kümesinden alınan her bir (?n) dizisinin en az bir quasi cauchy alt dizisi bulunabiliyorsa A ya ward kompakt küme denir. (?n) reel terimli bir dizi olmak üzere lim(r??)?(1/hr)?(n?Ir)|?n-L| =0 oluyorsa (?n) dizisine L?R ye N?- yakınsaktır denir ve N?-lim?n=L ile gösterilir. (?n) bir dizi ve (??n) dizisi sıfıra N?-yakınsak olsun. Yani; lim(r??)(1/hr) ?(n?Ir)|??n| =0 olsun. Bu durumda (?n)dizisine kuvvetli -N?-quasi cauchy ya da N?-quasi cauchy denir ve N? ile gösterilir.İf the consecutive terms of the sequence (sn) whose terms are real numbers converges to 0, namely d(s(n+1),sn)?0(n??),(sn) is called a quasi-cauchy sequence. İf a f function from the set A which is the subset of real numbers to real numbers, that is for each (?n) quasi-cauchy sequence if (f(?n)) is quasi-cauchy sequence , the f function is called ward-continuty. For each (?n) sequence taken fromthe set A which is the subset of real numbers contains at least a quasi-cauchy subsequence, then A is ward-compact set.
