Reduced-size dual-mode slotted patch resonator for low-loss and narrowband bandpass filter applications
(INST ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY-IET, 2004) Akgun, O; Tezekici, BS; Gorur, A
A compact, low-loss and narrowband dual-mode microstrip filter is proposed using degenerate modes of a microstrip patch resonator loaded with two narrow slots. The resonator structure is fed by inset lines connected directly to the centre of adjacent edges of a microstrip patch with two notches. The dual-mode filter is verified by both simulation and measurement.

Resonance characteristics of capacitively loaded CPW open-loop resonators
(JOHN WILEY & SONS INC, 2003) Gorur, A; Akgun, O
Capacitively loaded coplanar waveguide (CPW) open-loop resonators (OLRs) are proposed for maximum miniaturization in uniplanar microwave applications. It is shown that these resonators can be used to achieve a slow-wave effect without occupying extra surface area. Also, the resonators have a size reduction of about 50% at the same resonance frequency, as compared with the conventional open-loop resonator, as well as a higher performance of about 25-30%. The reduction in size of these types of resonators, and their performance (mainly the Q factor), can be controlled by the fingers within the OLR. (C) 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

Slow-wave CPW resonator with defected ground structure (DGS) for filter applications
(JOHN WILEY & SONS INC, 2006) Akgun, O; Gorur, A
Novel slow-wave CPW resonators with defected ground structures (DGSs) in a rectangularly spaced and open-loop shapes are investigated. These structures have an extremely compact size. The simulations and experimental results verify that these structures provide a size reduction of about 54% as compared to a conventional CPW resonator. (C) 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
