Öğe Construct validity of the scale of the perceived sociability of online learning environment in computer supported collaborative learning environments(2011) Çalişkan, Erkan; Bardakci, Salih; Teker, NecmettinThe main aim of the study is to test construct validity of "The Scale of The Perceived Sociability of Online Learning Environment (SPSO)", developed by Kreijns, Kirshner, Jochems and VanBuuren (2007) and adapted to Turkish culture for online learning environments by Bardakci (2010) in computer supported collaborative learning (CSCL) environments. The scale consists of ten five-point-Likert type items under a single factor, and all of the items positively contribute to the total score. The research data is collected from 158 undergraduates from Ankara University, Gazi University, Marmara University and Van Yuzuncu Yil University, participating in a CSCL environment application in the 2008-2009 academic year. Confirmatory factor analysis is applied to the obtained data. According to results SPSO exactly maintains the construct shown by Kreijns and et al. (2007) and Bardakci (2010) in CSCL environments. In the research, both The Cronbach Alpha internal consistency coefficient and The Sperman-Brown split- half coefficient of the scale items are found as .92.Öğe The adapdation of social space scale into Turkish: Validity and reliability study(Hacettepe University, 2012) Bardakci, Salih; Çalişkan, ErkanThe aim of this study is to adapt The Social Space Scale of Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning Environments developed by Kreijns, Kirschner, Jochems and Van Buuren (2004a) to Turkish language and culture. The original scale is in English, includes two factors and 20 items. Firstly, the original scale was translated into Turkish, and experts’ critics were obtained. Afterwards, both the English and Turkish forms were administered to students (n=29) of Başkent University Faculty of Education Computer Education and Instructional Technologies (CEIT) Department in a oneweek interval in order to determine the equivalency of these two forms. The construct validity studies were carried out on 158 CEIT students attending to Ankara, Marmara, Gazi and Van Yüzüncü Yıl Universities. Results showed that the Turkish version has two factors and consisted of 17 items. The Cronbach Alpha internal consistency coefficient was also calculated as.87. © 2012, Hacettepe University.
