Öğe Chemical composition of euphorbia macroclada boiss growing in Nigde, Turkey(Chemical Publishing Co., 2016) Battaloglu R.In this work, examining the chemical characterization of Macroclada boiss., which belong to Euphorbia family and grow in Nigde. The samples of plant were gathered in May and June and they were prepared for analysis after they got dry. To that end, firstly plants were extracted and then column chromatography was applied to them. Thin-layer chromatography was applied to those fractions obtained, then their chemical structures were characterized by using methods of FT/IR and 1H NMR and mass spectroscopy. When the analysis results of Macroclada boiss were examined, two different substances which were of diterpenoid (horminon) and aliphatic alcohol (1-octacosanol) were detected.Öğe Determination of phenolic compound contents in traditionally producted grape Pekmez samples(Chemical Publishing Co., 2016) Aydinlik Z.; Battaloglu R.The aim of this study was to determine the phenolic compound in grape pekmez samples. This study was conducted in Nigde city (Turkey). About 50 samples were collected from Nigde city. Grape pekmez samples were collected from city center, town centers, towns and villages. pH values, hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) concentration, total phenolic compound concentration and phenolic compound concentration were determined in these samples. pH values: 5.32 ± 0.23 were found to be the average result of the research. As a result of studies for the purpose of quantifying the HMF concentration was 35.64 ± 10.45 mg/kg. Total phenolic compound of samples were determined as 3359.25 ± 72.56. HPLC analysis of phenolic compounds was carried out in gape pekmez samples. Gallic acid, catechin, caffeic acid, epicatechin, p-coumaric acid and ferulic acid were found in pekmez samples with concentrations; 47.94 ± 2.58, 148.69 ± 11.17, 20.7 ± 2.08, 101.25 ± 5.8, 12.24 ± 1.65 and 18.26 ± 2.58 mg/kg respectively. pH values and HMF concentration was found in accordance with the Turkish Food Codex. Total phenolic content of phenolic compounds with other studies shows similar results.Öğe Investigation of heavy metals pollution along the Nigde-Kayseri Road, Turkey(2007) Yalcin M.G.; Battaloglu R.The study area comprises the D765 state road connecting Nigde and Kayseri cities in the central Anatolia. The aim of this study is to determine the heavy metal contamination in off roadside soils along the D765 state road. Heavy metal concentrations were measured with Spectro-Xepos Benchtop X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometer. Results of heavy metal analyses on soil samples reveal a significant contamination. Average heavy metal concentrations and standard deviations of samples collected from off roadside soils along the D765 state road are as follows: As: 27.90 (7.64), Cd: 3.99 (0.35), Co: 35.80 (2.19), Cr: 158.33 (46.27), Cu: 48.37 (24.73), Fe: 31516.83 (6545.26), Mn: 771.83 (121.41), Mo: 28.52 (5.51), Ni: 118.11 (27.90), Pb: 107.48 (37.90), Sn: 6.34 (1.35), Ti: 3369.87 (1172.44) Zn: 135.64 (32.42) mg/kg. In this study, among the heavy metals, As, Cd, Co, Cr, Mo, Ni and Pb are toxic metals. Heavy metal accumulations in soil were determined to be closely associated with traffic intensity.
