Öğe A new segmentation method for rotational landslide detection using outlier detection(Strojarski Facultet, 2019) Celik C.T.A new segmentation method for detection of rotational landslides from two epochs of Light Detection and Ranging System data (LiDAR) was developed. The developed method is based on outlier detection using Z scores of standard normal distribution. In this method, outlying height differences were obtained from two epochs of LiDAR data. The height differences were determined for each ith point uniquely by gridding the area along the steepest slope direction. Then, each profile containing the outlying height differences was tested for conformity to a possible rotational landslide and grouped into horizontal sets. Finally, the procedure was applied to horizontally grouped sets in the direction perpendicular to the steepest slope to determine each rotational landslide. To test the developed method, the area containing five different sizes of rotational landslides was scanned by the developed method. The results showed that the developed method segmented the area successfully identifying each rotational landslide. © 2019, Strojarski Facultet. In order to assess and monitor its influence on environmental quality, road traffic noise measurements are necessary. In generation of noise contour map, two main problems are encountered: noise measurements, which take considerable amount of time, and the method for rigorous production of noise contour map. An extrapolation technique was developed to construct noise contours using actual sound level measurements and GPS coordinates in connection with GIS. This technique was applied to the road traffic noise level measurements performed at 61 stations on the main roads and roundabouts of Nigde city of Turkey in 5.5 km2 area having approximately 100,000 inhabitants. Production of reliable noise contour map of Nigde was presented by using developed extrapolation technique, which utilize inverse square law of sound propagation.Öğe Performance of fuzzy logic in determination of unstable points in leveling networks(2010) Celik C.T.A man-made structure or natural phenomena like crustal movement, vertical land movements, subsidence determination, etc. is subject to deformations due to forces on them. Deformations of a structure require rigorous analysis to reflect significant movements. In general, deformation analysis relies on the reference network that is set outside the deforming area so that a comparison could be possible. However, a geodetic reference network is itself subject to movement. Therefore, the stability of the reference network needs to be conformed by some suitable methods. There exist a number of methods for performing the determination of stable and unstable points in the reference network. In this study, based on the fuzzy logic algorithm, a new method of detecting stable and unstable points in a reference network designed for detection of vertical movements is recommended. To test the proposed method a simulation was carried out and the results were presented.
