Öğe Determination of fire intensity after forest fire by remote sensing: marmaris case study(EDP Sciences, 2024) Erzurumlu, Gülden Sandal; Yıldız, Nuriye EbruForest fires in Turkiye are a frequently encountered natural disaster, especially in recent years. After a fire, identifying the plant species to be used in the area and determining the intensity of the fire in the region are important for assessing the area's capacity for natural regeneration. In this process, geographic information systems and remote sensing methods and techniques are commonly used tools for assessing burned areas and fire intensities following forest fires. In this study, one of Turkiye's devastating fires, the Marmaris fire, which began on June 21, 2022, is examined. Landsat satellite images, geometrically and radiometrically corrected, were utilized to determine the intensity of the Marmaris fire. As part of the method, the NBR (Normalized Burn Ratio), dNBR (Difference Normalized Burn Ratio), NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index), and dNDVI (Difference Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) indices were used for burned area detection. As a result of the study, information about the burned areas, fire intensities, and the regenerative capabilities of post-fire vegetation growth has been obtained. Furthermore, suitable pioneer plant species, considering the fire intensity, have been suggested for the restoration of burned landscape areas after the fire. This study is expected to serve as a guide for relevant public institutions and organizations, particularly the General Directorates of Forestry, enabling them to respond most effectively after fires and implement reforestation efforts considering the usage areas and growth capabilities of needle-leaved and broad-leaved plants. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences.Öğe Ecological Impact Assessment in Urban Development Areas: The Case of Niğde Orhan Batı and Tevfik Streets(2020) Yıldız, Nuriye Ebru; Erzurumlu, Gülden SandalWhile the cities formed with their natural and cultural values were shaped to the extent allowed bythe natural climate conditions in the historical process, the pressures on the traditional character ofthe cities and natural landscapes have increased as a result of the technological developments andchanges that have arisen with the increasing human activities along with the population increase.Urban development areas have emerged around the traditional settlements, resulting in the destruction of natural water resources, pasture, agriculture and forest areas. As a result, this negative impact on the local economy, as well as the ecological balance in the natural landscape surrounding the cities, negatively affects the regional and national economy at the upper scale. Within the scope of the research, NDVI analysis was carried out to determine the effect of urban development areasin the Orhan Batı and Tevfik Çalın Streets connecting the Niğde Central and Bor districts to the green areas and the change in the land cover was created by spatial maps. In addition to NDVI analysis, water permeability of soil and rock structure was determined in order to determine theeffect of urban development areas on Groundwater recharging and the effect of Groundwater recharging status and urban development areas on Groundwater recharging with the weighted method of registration were determined and suggestions have been developed in order not to adversely affect natural landscape areasÖğe Evaluation of the sufficiency of urban green spaces: Nigde city example(2021) Erzurumlu, Gülden SandalObjective: In this study, the numerical values that will guide the planner and the manager depending on the accessibility, adequacy and effective service areas of the Niğde urban green areas (GA) have been obtained. Material and Methods: The usage of GA of Niğde City is examined as children's playground, park and sports areas. The data was obtained from ASTER, Landsat 7- ETM and SPOT satellite images, the Niğde Development Plan (2017) with a scale of 1/1000 and ArcGIS software was used in spatial competence and accessibility analyzes of green spaces. Results: Active GA of Niğde city center is distance between neighborhood centers and percentages are calculated for each neighborhood. There are sport areas only in 4 parks in 61 neighborhood. 91% of the neighborhood and district parks are below 1 ha, while 9% are between 0.001-0.004 ha. Sports areas, 6% is between 4-6 ha, while 1% is 0.1 ha. Conclusion: Nigde urban green space assets quite low when compared with cities of the European Union, within the framework of the R econstruction Act in Turkey have also been found to be inadequate.Öğe Farklı Gelişme Dönemlerinde Biçilen Guar (Cyamopsis tetragonoloba (L.) Taub.)’ın Yem Verimi ve Kalitesi(2019) Kuşvuran, Alpaslan; Can, Ünzile; Erzurumlu, Gülden SandalBir baklagil türü olan guar, hayvanların kaba yem ihtiyacını karşılamak için başarılı bir şekilde yetiştiriciliği yapılan ve ülkemiz için de değerli bir bitki olma potansiyeline sahip önemli bir türdür. Bu çalışma, Çankırı Karatekin Üniversitesi Kızılırmak Meslek Yüksekokulu Araştırma ve Uygulama Alanı’nda, farklı biçim zamanlarının (erken vejetatif dönem, çiçeklenme başlangıcı, %50 çiçeklenme, tam çiçeklenme, çiçeklenme sonu, bakla bağlama başlangıcı, tam bakla bağlama ve baklada tanelerin şekil aldığı dönem) guarın yem verimi ve kalitesine etkisini belirlemek amacıyla, tesadüf blokları deneme desenine göre, 3 tekrarlamalı olarak, 2017 yılında yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada; bitki boyu 52,7-94,9 cm, dal sayısı 6,4-6,5 adet bitki-1, yaprak/sap oranı 0,54-1,10 sap kalınlığı 4,00-7,64 mm, yeşil ot verimi 838-3874 kg da-1, kuru ot verimi 252-989 kg da-1, ham protein oranı %16,2-19,8, ham protein verimi 120,0-196,1 kg da-1, ham selüloz oranı %48,5-55,0 ADF oranı %38,7-42,9 NDF oranı %43,5-49,8 ve RFV değeri 106,5-120,8 arasında değişim göstermiştir. In order to reduce and control these negative effects, a variety of regulatory ecological services are needed to provide both a nutrient environment for animals and to save and maintain their habitat. For this purpose, creating buffer zones at the borders of fence plants and farm areas can be used as a regional supporting mechanism. One of the most important criteria is to use plant species (from Legüminaceae families) which have high nutritional value for animals in farm buffer areas. The selected plants have many functions such as erosion prevention on sloping areas, nutrient retention, aesthetic area creation, flood prevention, odor control. They are the ones that constantly occupy the city's agenda with various environmental problems such as ensuring control of unwanted odors in farm areas and improving visual quality. In this study, it is aimed to determine the plant species that can be suggested to be used in a buffer zone which can be created in order to create aesthetic value in farm areas, to control odor problem and to contribute to studies to create nutrients and to protect ecology.Öğe Suoku (Sagittaria sagittifolia L.)’nun Doğal Yetişme Ortamı Özelliklerinin Mevsimsel Değişimi(2023) Karadavut, Sedat; Sert, Elif Bozdoğan; Erzurumlu, Gülden Sandal; Altun, BahadırBu çalışma, suoku (Sagittaria sagittifolia L.) bitkisini doğal yetişme ortam (su ve çamur) özelliklerinin mevsimsel değişimlerini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır.
