Öğe Combination of Conventional Ball Mill and Stirred Mill to Obtain Ultra-Fine Talc(2023) Güleç, Ömer; Toraman, Öner Yusuf; Uçurum, MetinIn this study, it was investigated that talc ore could ground to very fine sizes using a combination of conventional ball mill and vertical stirred mill. Firstly, the conventional ball mill parameters such as mill speed (% of critical speed), material filling ratio (Jb), ball filling ratio (fc), ball size distribution (10-20-30-40 mm, %), grinding aid ratio (% of powder) and grinding time (min.) were optimized using classic experimental design. As a result of the optimization, fine talc product was obtained with d90=93.52 µm particle size. In the second stage, the ball mill product was re-milled using a stirred mill. As a result of study, a final ultra-fine talc powder was obtained after 60 minutes grinding time with d50=1.85 µm particle size and 14058 cm2/g total surface area. It has been seen that the conventional ball mill+stirred mill combination effective a process to obtain talc powder that suitable for industrial use.Öğe Talk cevherinin bilyeli değirmen ve dikey karıştırmalı değirmende çok ince boyutlara öğütülebilirliğinin araştırılması(Niğde Ömer Halisdemir Üniversitesi / Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü, 2017) Güleç, Ömer; Toraman, Öner Yusuf; Uçurum, MetinIn this postgraduate study, we tried to optimize the parameters that are effective in investigating the grindability of talc ore to very fine particle sizes in a conventional ball mill and a vertical stirred bead mill. Parameters studied in conventional ball mill were mill speed, ball filling rate, ball size distribution ratio, talc filling ratio, grinding aid ratio and grinding time. The optimal values of the target parameters systematically studied in the grinding of the talc ore are 45 rpm (90% of the critical speed), 12 kg of ball (42% of mill volume), 1 kg of talc ore (10% of ball mass), 30% of 1 cm, 30% of 2 cm, 20% of 3 cm and 20% of 4 cm of the ball size distribution ratio, 0% of the grinding aid and 30 minutes of grinding time. The effects of stirrer speed, bead charge rate, talc charge rate, and grinding time were investigated by using a conventional ball mill product (d50=17,92 ?m and d90=83,52 ?m) in vertical stirred milling operations. In this study, the average particle size (d50), the isodiametric particle ratio (span value) and the total surface area of the milled products were measured. As a result of 60 minutes of grinding time, a product having span value of 2,62, d50 value of 1,85 ?m,d90 value of 5,53 ?m and total surface area of 14.000 cm2 /gr was obtained. XRD, TG-DTA, FTIR and SEM analyses were also carried out on the final product obtained from the vertical stirred mill in detail.
