Öğe Evaluation of the Writing Disposition of Elementary School Sixth Grade Students(WYDAWNICTWO ADAM MARSZALEK, 2010) Iseri, KamilThe objective of this study is the evaluation of the writing disposition of sixth grade students from the perspective of different variables using the Writing Disposition Scale developed by Piazza & Siebert (2008) and adopted into Turkish by Iseri & Unal (2010). At the conclusion of this study we note that the writing disposition of elementary school sixth grade students in the confidence and passion sub-categories, and in the scale as a whole, showed meaningful differences according to the school they attended but that a meaningful difference in writing disposition could not be observed in the persistence sub-category.Öğe Primary School Second Grade Teachers' and Students' Opinions on Media Literacy(GRUPO COMUNICAR, 2014) Sur, Emine; Unal, Emre; Iseri, KamilIn this study, interviews were conducted with teachers of media literacy to determine the needs of media literacy teaching in the classroom. As a result, we see that teachers need in-service training for classes in media literacy; the media literacy lesson is adequate in terms of content but inadequate as an activity. Students indicated significant changes in their perceptions of media after taking these lessons. A "Media Literacy Level Scale" and a "Media Literacy Attitude were applied to determine students' level and attitude. The information on students was obtained through the "Private Information Form". As a result, a positive, low-level and significant relationship was found between the students' attitude levels on media literacy lessons and their media literacy levels. The study's conclusion is that there is no significant difference between the media literacy classes taken by the primary school second grade students and their attitudes and levels on media literacy. Also, no significant difference was found between the educational levels of the parents of these second graders and their attitudes and levels on media literacy. However, there was a significant difference between the students' daily newspaper reading habits and the frequency of listening to the radio and their attitudes on media literacy classes and media literacy levels.Öğe The Adaptation of Writing Disposition Scale into Turkish(TURKISH EDUCATION ASSOC, 2010) Iseri, Kamil; Unal, EmreThe aim of this study is to adapt the Writing Disposition Scale that was developed by Piazza and Siebert (2008) for Turkish and to show the validity and reliability of the scale. The study group consists of the students studying in the 4th, 5th and 6th grade classes of primary schools in Nigde city center. In this context, data has been obtained from 3533 students from 25 primary schools, and the analysis is completed through 3485 data pieces. The scale is seen to be composed of three dimensions (passion, confidence, persistence). The Cronbach's alpha reliability factor is found to be .893 for the whole scale, .806 for the confidence sub-dimension, .749 for the persistence sub-dimension and .914 for the passion sub-dimension. The scale is shown to be valid and reliable.Öğe The Determining the Relationship between Turkish Language Teachers' Attitudes towards Computer Education and Technology(KAMLA-RAJ ENTERPRISES, 2014) Kahraman, Eser; Iseri, Kamil; Unal, EmreThe purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between Turkish teachers' attitudes towards computer-based training and technology. In this study, descriptive model has been used. The data were collected with "Attitudes Scale towards Computer Assisted Education" and "Attitudes Scale towards Technology" in this descriptive study. The research' sample is composed of Turkish teachers who worked in Nigde in 2011-2012 Academic Years. The results of the study showed that Turkish language teachers' attitudes towards computer-based education and technology were positive. There is low level negative and non-significant relationship between the Turkish teachers' attitudes towards computer-based education and technology. Teachers' attitudes towards computer-based education and technology being positive can be interpreted as them perceiving technology and computers as necessity and tools during the educational process. This result of the study can be considered as an important finding in terms of using and dissemination technology in education.
