Öğe ASSESSMENT OF PSEUDOMONAS AERUGINOSA AND SULFOREDUCTON BACTERIA AS AN INDICATOR OF HUMAN HEALTH RISK AND NATURAL WATER RESOURCE(Health & Environment Assoc, 2018) Ferizi, Rrahman; Maxhuni, Qenan; Huseyin, KadirThe main objective of this study was to analyze Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Sporogene sulforeducton bacteria on the water alongside Sitnica, Lepenci, and Lumbardhi i Prizrenit rivers. Preparation and analyses of bacteria species from water samples was realized using standard bacteriological procedures. Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Sulforeducton bacteria was resulted from zero colonies (0 / CFU/100 mL) according to the allowable international standard value, number of Sporogene Sulforeducton bacteria in 100 mL water is 10 (0-10 CFU / 100 mL), while for Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria limit number is zero per 100 ml water (0 CFU / 100 mL). Our results indicated that the types of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Sulforeducton bacteria are not isolated from different water sources on the mentioned rivers, that it can justify the water purity of these rivers according to a microbiological aspect, which provides the internationally allowable level of pathogens in water of rivers. Also, our research has included physical and chemical analyses of water (pH, temperature, conductivity, turbidity etc.) were tested the water before treatment according to ISO method (5667-5: 2000). As we know, the variability of subtypes of different bacterial aspects reflected for research, risk management, and public health strategies.Öğe Census and spatial distribution of White Stork (Ciconia ciconia) population in Kosovo in 2017 and 2018(Walter De Gruyter Gmbh, 2023) Maxhuni, Qenan; Karatas, Ahmet; Fiedler, WolfgangIn this study, during 2017-2018, for the first time in Kosovo, research on the census, distribution and population dynamics of the White Stork was made. 61 new nests were found in the whole country territory and together with 22 known nests, the total population is recorded to 83 nests and 72 breeding pairs. In total, 461 chicks were raised in the successful nests. Breeding success for the country territory during the observation period of all breeding pairs was 3.18, and 3.19 of all breeding pairs that raised chicks. The mean breeding density for the entire country was 0.67 breeding pairs/100 km(2) in 2017 and 0.70 in 2018. For the potential feeding habitats, it was 2.19 (2017) and 2.28 (2018). The densest area, the river basin of Lepenci held 2.48 pairs for 100 km(2). 48.61% of all recorded White Stork nests were located on various poles.Öğe EVALUATION OF BACTERIA SHIGELLA SUBTYPES IN THE ALIMENTARY TRACT OF FISH SPECIES (SQUALIUS CEPHALUS AND CARASSIUS GIBELIO) AND HUMAN HEALTH RISK ASSESSMENT(Health & Environment Assoc, 2018) Huseyin, Kadir; Maxhuni, Qenan; Ferizi, RrahmanThe aim of this study was to isolate enteric pathogenic bacteria from fish that could be transmitted to humans after the handling or consumption of those fishes. Fish samples were collected applying the electrofishing method alongside Sitnica, Lepenci, and Lumbardhi I Prizrenit rivers. Evaluation of Shigella spp. species from fish samples was performed using standard bacteriological procedures. In addition, the bacteriological analyses involved Bacteria genus of Gram-negative Shigella spp., on the following fish species: Squalius cephalus and Carassius gibelio. Shigella was conducted according to ISO 6579:2002 methods. This microbiological parameter was analyzed from 60 samples, results that Shigella is not found in the alimentary tract of this fishes. The analysis of various serovars of Shigella spp. from different sources indicates that distribution of this bacteria in the mentioned rivers is not normally present. As we know, the variability of subtypes of different microbiological aspects reflected for research, risk management, and public health strategies.Öğe Kosova'da leylek (Ciconia ciconia)'in dağılımı, göçü ve populasyon dinamiği(Niğde Ömer Halisdemir Üniversitesi / Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü, 2019) Maxhuni, Qenan; Karataş, Ahmet; Fiedler, Wolfgang2017 ve 2018 yıllları ilkbaharında başlayan bu çalışmada, Kosova'daki Leylek (Ciconia ciconia) populasyonlarının dağılım, göç ve dinamiği ilk kez araştırılmıştır. Kaydedilen yuvaların % 48,61'i farklı elektrik direklerindedir. Kaydedilen yuvaların çoğunluğu kuru tarım alanlarında (% 39,95) (CAÖ sınıfı 211) ve karışık tarım alanlarında (% 18,85) bulunmaktadır (CAÖ sınıfı 242). Kosova'daki ilk leylek takibi 2016-2018 yıllarında bu çalışmalar sırasında gerçekleştirilmiş ve 8 yavru leyleğe GPS vericileri takılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler sonucunda Kosova'da üreyen leyleklerin Orta, Doğu ve Güney Afrika'daki kışlama bölgelerine ulaştıkları tespit edilmiştir.
