Solvent extraction of Fe3+ cation by 25,26,27,28-tetraisonitrosoaceto calix[4]arene and based ligands
(MARCEL DEKKER INC, 1999) Deligoz, H; Pekacar, AI; Ozler, MA; Ersoz, M
25,26,27,28-Tetraisonitrosoaceto calix[4]arene [L-8] was synthesized by reacting 25,26,27,28-tetraacetyl calix[4]arene [L-7] with n-butyl nitrite. The synthesized compounds [L-7, L-8] and based ligands (p-tert-butyl phenol [L-1], p-methoxy phenol [L-2] p-methyl aldoxime [L-3], p-methoxy glyoxime [L-4], p-tert-butyl calix[4]arene [L-5], and calix[4]arene [L-6]} were utilized for solvent extraction of Fe3+ cations from the aqueous phase to the organic phase. It was observed that the p-methoxy glyoxime [L-4] and oximated derivative of calix[4]arene are more efficient carriers of Fe3+ in the extraction process at pH 2.2.

Synthesis and characterization of some nickel(II), cobalt(II), and zinc(II) complexes with Schiff bases derived from the reaction of isonitroso-p-chloroacetophenone and 1,2-diaminoethane with 1,4-diaminobutane
(TAYLOR & FRANCIS INC, 2005) Demir, I; Pekacar, AI
Two new Schiff bases have been synthesized by the condensation of 1,2-diaminoethane (HL) and 1,4-diamino buthane (HL') with isonitroso-p-kloroasetafenon. The complexes of cobalt(II), nickel(II) and zinc(II) with HL and HL' were prepared. The ligands and their complexes were characterized by spectroscopic techniques.

The synthesis of four new bis(amino-p-chlorophenylglyoximes) and their polymeric complexes
(MARCEL DEKKER INC, 1997) Pekacar, AI; Mercimek, B; Ozcan, E
In this study, four new bis(amino-p-chlorophenylglyoximes), 1,2-phenylenebis(amino-p-chlorophenylglyoxime) L(1)H(2), 1,5-naphthylenebis(amino-p-chlorophenylglyoxime) L(2)H(2), 3,4-tolylenebis(amino-p-chlorophenylglyoxime) L(3)H(2), and 2,6-pyridylbis(amino-p-chlorophlenylglyoxime) L(4)H(2), have been synthesized from anti-p-chlorophenylchloroglyoxime and the corresponding aromatic diamines. Their polymeric complexes with Ni(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) have been prepered. The Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes of these ligands have been found to be square-planar, while the Co(II) complexes are octahedral with water molecules as axial ligands. H-1 NMR, AAS, IR, magnetic susceptibility and elemental analytical data of the complexes and ligands are discussed.

Thermal decomposition kinetics of anilino-p-chlorophenylglyoxime complexes of cobalt (II), nickel (II) and copper (II)
(SCIENTIFIC TECHNICAL RESEARCH COUNCIL TURKEY, 2003) Arslan, H; Kulcu, N; Pekacar, AI
The Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes of anilino-p-chlorophenylglyoxime were synthesised. The thermal behaviour of all complexes was studied by DTA and TG. It was found that pyrolytic decomposition occurs with melting in metal complexes and that metal oxides remain as final products of the metal complexes. A GC-MS combined system was used to identify the products during pyrolytic decomposition. The pyrolytic end products were identified by x-ray powder diffraction. The orders, n, the activation energies, E*, the pre-exponential factors, A, and the entropies, DeltaS*, of thermal decomposition reactions were derived from thermogravimetric and differential thermogravimetric curves. The, kinetic analysis of the thermogravimetric data was performed by using the Coats-Redfern and Horowitz-Metzger methods.
