Öğe A new species from southern anatolia (Dedegöl mountain series—Çürük mountain) in Turkey: Hypericum bilgehan-bilgilii (hypericaceae)(Magnolia Press, 2018) Başköse İ.; Savran A.Hypericum bilgehan-bilgilii is here described and illustrated as a new species of section Triadenioides, from the Southern Anatolia, Turkey. Distribution map, habitat and ecology, etymology, the Turkish name for the new species, and dichotomous key are given. The new species is compared with morphologically close species, H. ternatum and H. pallens. © 2018 Magnolia Press.Öğe Antimicrobial Activity of the Essential Oil and the Extracts of Kitaibelia balansae Species(Har Krishan Bhalla and Sons, 2017) Yildirim F.; Memis Y.; Ozturk A.; Caliskan Z.; Savran A.; Abdullah M.I.Essential oils and many components from medicinal plant extracts have been long known for their antimicrobial activity. Essential oils are natural products that are synthesized by the plant and stored in their cells. Essential oils or many of their constituents are in fact effective against a large variety of organisms they can be very well used as alternatives to synthetic chemicals. Kitaibelia balansae Boiss is the only Turkish representative of the genus Kitaibelia that is regularly used as cataplasm herb in traditionally Turkish medicine. In this work the essential oil of the flowers, stems and leaves of K.balansae species, collected from Konya (Turkey) were extracted both by hydro-distillation and Soxhlet and were investigated for their anti-microbial activity. The results showed good activity on the pathogenic microorganisms used. All extracts were analyzed by GC-MS. The antibacterial activities of all the extracts were examined against five Gram-negative, one Gram-positive bacteria and one pathogenic yeast by using disc diffusion method. The results showed the presence of manool, 8, 13-epoxy, 15, 16-dinorlab-12-ene, 8a; 13, 13; 17 depoxy-14, 15-bisnorlabdane and tetrahydroactinidiolide, labda-7,13,14-triene, cis and trans-methyldihydrojasmonate as well as other compounds. © 2017 Har Krishan Bhalla & Sons.Öğe Chemical Composition of The Essential Oil of The Flowers and Leaves of Çalba Tea (Dorystoechas hastata Boiss & Helder. ex Bentham)(Har Krishan Bhalla and Sons, 2016) Özcan M.M.; Chalchat J.C.; Figueredo G.; Bagci Y.; Dural H.; Savran A.; Özcan M.M.Abstract: The essential oils of flower and leaves of Dorystoechas hastata Boiss & Helder. ex Bentham, grown in Turkey, was obtained by hydrodistillation and analysed by GC and GS-MS. Fourty components were identified in the flowers oil, which represented about 93.97% of the total composition of the oil. The major constituents of the flower essential oil were myrcene (19.37%), 1,8-cineole (14.30%), ß-pinene (9.19%), ?-pinene (8.49%) and ß-caryophyllene (6.18%). Thirty-seven components were established in the leaves oil, making up 97.16% of the total composition. The main constituents of the essential oil of the leaves were myrcene (20.71%), 1,8-cineole (18.76%), ß-pinene (12.51%), ?-pinene (8.54%), bornyl acetate (7.28%) and terpinene-4-ol (6.19%). As seen, myrcere, 1,8-cineole and ß-pinene for both oils were the main components. © 2016 Har Krishan Bhalla & Sons.Öğe Karyomorphological studies of ten taxa of Barbarea (Cruciferae) from Turkey [Türkiye'den on Barbarea (Cruciferae) taksonunda Karyomorfolojik çali{dotless}şmalar](2009) Martin E.; Savran A.; Bagci Y.In this research, the somatic chromosome numbers and karyotypes of taxa belonging to the genus Barbarea R.Br. were determined using Image Analysis System. These taxa are Barbarea vulgaris R.Br., B. verna (Mill.) Aschers., B. sicula C. Presl., B. trichopoda Hausskn. ex Bornm., B. auriculata Hausskn. ex Bornm. var. auriculata, B. lutea Cullen & Coode, B. plantaginea DC., B. brachycarpa Boiss. subsp. brachycarpa var. brachycarpa, B. brachycarpa Boiss. subsp. minor (K. Koch) Parolly & Eren var. pilicarpa Parolly & Eren, B. brachycarpa Boiss. subsp. brachycarpa var. ilicifolia Parolly, Nordt & Eren as 2n = 2x = 16. Based on karyological data with this genus, one basic chromosome number in Barbarea taxa were observed (x = 8). Furthermore, ideograms were given for all the studied Barbarea taxa. The research has made contribution to the cytotaxonomic revision of the genus Barbarea in Turkey.Öğe Ornithogalum beyazoglui (hyacinthaceae), a new species from West Anatolia, Turkey(2011) Bagci Y.; Savran A.; Düsen O.D.; Tutar L.Ornithogalum beyazoglui Y.Bagci{dotless}, Savran & O. D. Düşen sp. nov. (Hyacinthaceae), a new species is described and illustrated from İzmir, Ödemiş, Bozdag (İzmir, Ödemiş province). Diagnostic morphological characters are discussed, including SEM examination of seed coat surface. Data are also presented on ecology, biogeography and conservation status of the new species. © 2011 Bangladesh Association of Plant Taxonomists.
