Öğe EVALUATION OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY LEVELS AND QUALITY OF LIFE OF TEACHERS(Drustvo Pedagoga Tjelesne & Zdravstvene Kulture, 2017) Saglam, Yunus; Yilmaz, GurkanThe aim of this study is to evaluate the levels of physical activity levels and quality of life of teachers. 474 volunteer teachers [male (n = 276) and female (n = 198)] participated in this study. Permission was obtained from the Provincial Directorate of National Education at the beginning of the research. The teachers who participated in this study applied the physical activity short form and SF-36 quality of life scale (8 dimensions, 2 summary score) as well as personal information forms including age, gender, height, body weight. The independent samples T test was used to compare pair wise groups variables and One-way ANOVA was used to compare more than two group's variables. The Tukey test was used to determine the difference between multiple groups. When the difference between participants' age groups, gender and physical activity levels and quality of life summary scores were examined; statistically significant differences were found in the physical health scores (p <0.05) and no statistically significant difference was found in the mental health scores (p> 0.05) of the teachers. It has been found that increased levels of physical activity increases physical health summary scores. In addition, when the difference between body mass index and quality of life summary scores is examined; there was no statistically significant difference in mental health summary scores (p> 0.05). As a result, it was found that increased levels of physical activity increases physical health summary scores of the teachers, but does not change mental health summary scores.Öğe The effect of nutrition course on the nutrition knowledge level(Mattioli 1885, 2020) Yilmaz, Gurkan; Seker, RamazanStudy Objectives: It is a well-known fact that knowledge about athletes 'and coaches' nutrition is very important. There are several studies on the nutrition of athletes. In this study, to determine the athletes' nutritional knowledge levels; it was conducted to determine the sports knowledge scores of the students, the future coaches of today's athletes, studying in the Faculty of Sports Sciences. Methods: 394 students voluntarily participated in the study. Sports Nutrition Knowledge Scale (SNKS) was used to determine students' sports nutrition knowledge scores. Independent samples-t test was used to compare the groups, and One-Way ANOVA test was used to determine the difference between the departments. Results: The mean knowledge score of the students who took the nutrition course was determined as 37.11% and the mean knowledge score of the students who did not take the nutritional course was determined as 22.67%. It was determined that the difference between the nutritional knowledge mean score of the students who took and did not take a nutritional course was in favor of the students taking a nutritional course. While the nutritional knowledge mean scores of male students were 30.23%, the mean of nutritional knowledge of females was 29.50%. No difference was found in the comparison of the nutritional knowledge score means of male and female students. The mean of nutritional knowledge scores among the departments in the teaching department was found to be 32.52% in the coaching department and 27.01% in the management department. When the sub-dimensions were evaluated, there was a significant difference in micronutrients, sport nutrition, supplement, and alcohol sub-dimensions. Conclusion: It was determined that the nutritional knowledge levels of the students who took both nutrition courses and those who did not take the nutritional courses were found to be poor, while the nutritional knowledge total scores of the students who took the nutritional courses were higher. For this reason, it is thought that it will be beneficial to increase the nutrition course duration and to add these course to the standard education as a compulsory course to keep the nutritional knowledge levels of the students who can coach in the future.Öğe The Effects of Power, Speed, Skill and Anaerobic Capacity of Different Training Models in Young Male Basketball Players(KAMLA-RAJ ENTERPRISES, 2014) Yilmaz, GurkanThe purpose of the present study is to examine the power, speed, skill and anaerobic capacity on men's basketball for 16 weeks endurance training along with the general basketball training. The study involved 36 male basketball players such as, Control Group (CG), Endurance Group (PE) and the General Endurance Group (GE). The shot test, 20 m running test, squat jump, countermovement jump, running-based anaerobic sprint tests were applied to the groups during the Pre- Exercise and Post-Exercise. Mann-Whitney U test was used to determine the differences between evaluations of the groups. While considering the Running Based Anaerobic Speed Test of the Difference among groups in the evaluation of 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th in run evaluation Pre-Exercise was between CG and PE and between CG and GG, Post-Exercise was in favor between CG and PE in all miming values, When considering the Power Index Between Difference Groups, In evaluation of The Pre-Exercise, values were 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th runs, and there was significant difference between the groups CG and GD and CG and PE. As a result, it is considered to be appropriate for practicing the method in the development of young basketball players of the cardiovascular and metabolic stability in addition to specific agent's interval training.
