Özet

It is known that Turks are the cleanest people in the world. As they were extremely fond of cleaning in their daily lives, they often felt the need to wash. In the Ottoman Empire, with the effect of the cleaning consciousness in the Turkish World, closed beaches were built for the public to benefit along the coastline. The regulations regarding the closed beaches called as the sea baths were prepared and their use and their administrations was taken under control. With this regulation, it was tried to prevent the pollution of the coasts and the seas by prohibiting entering the sea apart outside of the sea baths. The constructions and administrations of the sea baths were tendered in summer and closed in the autumn. In addition, the companies were opened to operate the baths to ensure the public was benefiting from the baths regularly. Below, the opening and administration of the sea baths in and around Istanbul is explained. © 2019 Telif Hakkı OSMED’e aittir.
