Social movements challenge the neoliberal economic tendencies in their own areas or regions and they are getting together to struggle in a more effective manner. These protests indicate that the established definitions and concepts have not run to match the people sovereignty. People from different places of the world raise their voices in the streets with different reasons and their common point is to change something in decision-making process which is in lacking of representatives. Especially the democracy under the pressure of neoliberal free market economy does not reflect popular demands but rather organizes the market relations under the control of expertise. Democracy is radically challenged in these latest efforts and actions. Because this well-known-concept does not run for people life, in contrast, the politics without democracy make them out of the game. The main argument of the study is that new movements criticize the liberal democracy and they create new spaces for the citizens in political debates against the policy process of the decision-makers or professionals. © 2017 Editura Universitatii din Bucuresti.
