Özet
Nigde Sancak was took place as an administrative unit which bounded to Konya Vilayet since classical period untill 1914. The first information of the population of Nigde belongs to 16th century. Nigde Kaza was bounded to Nigde Sancak, which consist of Develi, Andugu, Urgup. Aksaray was another individual kaza in same century. Aksaray was converted to a district of Nigde sancak in Konya Vilayet afterwards. The first census was made in 1831 in Ottoman Empire excluding the census which was counted designate the taxable people. It is difficult to say an accurate census due to fact that only counted males and other reasons were realized. Data were not showed accurate census. The census of 1881/92 was made, includes realistic data. It's worth to say that the ethnic and cultural constitution took place in this census. The following census did not contain this much data. The latest census took place in 1914 which includes kazas bounded sancak had amount of people as house by house. Although data of this census was limited and does not contain population of some villages and towns, it is very important for the current knowledge and data. The latest information for Nigde Sancak at Ottaman Empire belongs to 1915 and 1916. The report prepared for primary schools in sancak mentions about the population of people in villages and towns as a house. According to number of houses, it can be reach to an average population.
