dc.description.abstractStudies on the intramolecular addition of alkenyl radicals to furans are reported. The alkenyl radicals undergo a 5-exotrig addition to furans and the resulting spirocyclic intermediate can fragment to give substituted cyclopentene rings. ((C) Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
