dc.description.abstractThe study of an isotropic harmonic oscillator, using the factorization method given in Ohanian's textbook on quantum mechanics, is refined and some collateral extensions of the method related to the ladder operators and the associated Laguerre polynomials are presented. In particular, some analytical properties of the associated Laguerre polynomials are derived using the ladder operators.
