dc.description.abstract | Medicinal plants is today accepted as an undeniable part of the food basket of the people of the world, including their safe use as medicine for promoting health and preventing number of ailments. In the current chapter, some of the potent antioxidant herbs that play a protective role for the pregnancy system of the fetus and mothers are assessed. We have tried to gather related articles and information that will provide an overview of this subject. Some aspects of the herbal usage by various studies are shown as graphs. Some effects of medicinal plants in nausea and vomiting in pregnant cases were assessed, like: Citrus limon, Citrus medica L., Malus domestica Borkh, etc. In another section, several specific health risks have been emphasized, which demonstrate mutagenic and transgenic signs like Mentha piperita L., Ruta cha- lepensis / Ruta graveolens, etc. as also the effective abortifacient influences related to the use of herbs in pregnancy that are expressed in the ongoing literature. We conclude with an overview of some of the effects of herbs on women' periods in pregnancy and body cycle, with some recommendations. © 2024 Walter de Gruyter GmbH, Berlin/Boston.
