Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between hearing impaired individuals' attitudes towards sport, general self-efficacy, and life satisfaction according to various variables. A total of 108 high school students, 28 female and 80 male, with hearing impairment, living in Kayseri and studying between 2018-2019, voluntarily participated in the study. Research data were collected through a questionnaire. Questionnaires were delivered to the participants by face-to-face interview method. A questionnaire form consisting of four scales was applied, Personal Information Form, Attitudes toward Sport, General Self-Efficacy, and Life Satisfaction, showing that the general self-efficacy levels of the hearing-impaired individuals were positively related to the level of life satisfaction. To increase the level of life satisfaction, especially male students with a lower level of satisfaction should be encouraged to participate in sports that positively affect their physical and psychological health, and appropriate environments should be provided.
