However, certain authoritarian regimes adapted to these developments in order to consolidate their rule. By reviewing the relevant literature and analyzing pro-government Twitter accounts, this work demonstrates the strategies of the Justice and Development Party in Turkey to legitimize its increasingly authoritarian rule via the internet.
