Murat; Goeruer, AdnanA compact microstrip dual-mode resonator is proposed for asymmetric response filter applications. The proposed microstrip dual-mode resonator that has form of a quasi-meander shaped loop resonator is investigated using a full-wave electromagnetic simulator. It is found that the degenerate modes, i.e., the odd and even modes, within this dual-mode resonator exhibit behavior similar to that of conventional dual-mode loop resonator. It is shown that there are two transmission zeros. The one of them is inherently associated with the dual-mode resonator structure and the other one is inherently associated with the odd mode. Two asymmetrical response filters exhibiting two transmission zeros in the upper stopband, and two transmission zeros in the lower and upper stopbands are realized utilizing dual-mode quasi-meander loop resonator.Öğe Dual-mode dual-band microstrip square loop resonators and filters(2008) Karpuz, Ceyhun; Eryilmaz, G. Murat; Gunturkun, Elif; Gorur, Adnan; Karpuz, CeyhunDual-mode microstrip bandstop filter, which has an inductive or capacitive perturbation element located at one of its corners, with a 90 degrees-bended lambda/4 microstrip feeding line is proposed. The degenerate mode splitting of a conventional dual-mode square loop resonator and the coupling coefficient between these modes are investigated. The filter characteristic is changed by the perturbation size. Finally, a novel dual-mode microstrip bandstop filter is designed and realized using degenerate modes of dual-mode microstrip square loop resonator. Murat; Tumer, Tolga; Tang, XH; Xiao, SQWe report the results of an investigation into dual-mode operation of microstrip loop resonator based on meander slow wave structure, and its applications for designing miniature dual-mode bandpass filters. A new feed arrangement for the miniature dual-mode filters is also proposed and investigated in detail. The feed arrangement supports the proposed enhanced coupling between I/O ports of the filter. Both calculated and measured results for two-pole and four-pole dual-mode filters are presented.
