Öğe The effect of psychological needs on task performance with the mediating role of work engagement: A sample from a public organization in Kosovo(2020) Hoxha, Sejdi; Çetin, FatihBased on the Self Determination Theory (SDT), the main purpose of this study is to determine the effect of psychological needs on task performance with the mediating role of work engagement. The participants of this research are from public companies operating in post and telecommunication area in Kosovo. With the convenience sampling method, the data were collected from 394 employees working in different positions. The results showed that amongst others merely competence need has significant positive relationship with the task performance. For the engagement sub-dimensions, relatedness need has significant positive relationship with vigor, dedication and absorption, and autonomy need has significant positive relationship with vigor and dedication. It’s also found that engagement has not a mediating role in between psychological needs and task performance. However, the results presented that competence need has a significant explaining power together with all three engagement sub-dimensions of vigor, dedication absorption on the task performance. The contributions, limitations and suggestions are discussed.Öğe The impact of intrinsic motivation and employeeengagement on in-role and extra-role performanceA research on the public enterprises post and telecom ofKosovo(2020) Hoxha, Sejdi; Çetin, FatihThe main purpose of this study is to examine the effect of intrinsic motivation and employee engagement on in-role and extra-role performance. The study sample consisted of 394 employees among different sections of Post and Telecom of Kosovo. The relationship between study variables was investigated by correlation and hierarchical regression analyses. The results revealed that relatedness, which is one of the sub-dimensions of intrinsic motivation has a positive effect on in-role performance whilst the findings showed that other sub-dimensions such as autonomy and competence have no significant effect on in-role performance. Regarding the effects between intrinsic motivation and extra-role performance, the findings proved that all intrinsic motivation sub-dimensions (autonomy, competence, and relatedness) have a positive effect on extra-role performance. As per the effects between intrinsic motivation and employee engagement, the results demonstrated that autonomy and competence have a positive effect on vigor which is a sub-dimension of employee engagement while relatedness doesn't have a positive effect on vigor. The results also showed that all intrinsic motivation sub-dimensions have a positive effect on dedication and absorption. Moreover, the results proved that all the sub-dimensions of employee engagement (vigor, dedication, and absorption) have a positive effect on in-role and extra-role performance. Finally, the relationship between intrinsic motivation, employee engagement, in-role and extra-role performance together with their sub-dimensions are discussed and further suggestions are presented.
