Öğe A New Epiphytic Bryophyte Association For Turkey (Anomodontetum attenuati)(FOUNDATION ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION & RESEARCH-FEPR, 2011) Kara, Recep; Ezer, Tulay; Duzenli, AtabayThe epiphytic Anomodontetum attenuati association have been first identified from beech forests (Fagus orientalis) in Europe (Romania). With this study, the same association is newly reported for Turkey from hornbeam (Carpinus orientalis) forests in Amanos (Nur) Mountains. In addition to the syntaxonomic, floristic and ecological descriptions of this association, a life form and life strategy analysis has been carried out. Finally, phytosociolological analysis show clearly that the assocation is mainly composed of perennial styers with a high asexual reproductive effort, with pleurocarp dominance, the more or less stable and humid site conditions.Öğe Öğe Antifungal and antibacterial effects of some acrocarpic mosses(ACADEMIC JOURNALS, 2011) Elibol, Busra; Ezer, Tulay; Kara, Recep; Celik, Gokcen Yuveli; Colak, EmelIn this study, the antifungal and antibacterial effect of 6 different acrocarpous mosses were tested in vitro aganist 8 different microorganisms. For the extraction, ethyl alcohol, methyl alcohol, acetone and chloroform were used as solvents. While the highest antimicrobial effect was seen in methyl alcohol extracts, extracts of chloroform showed the lowest level of antimicrobial effect. Grimmia anodon Bruch & Schimp. which is one of the acrocarp mosses used in this study, showed the highest activity in terms of the number of microorganism affected. Tortella tortuosa (Hedw.) Limpr. only has effect on Candida albicans ATCC 16231 strain. All the results were compared with standard antibiotic discs, ketoconazole (50 mu g), ampicillin (10 mu g), eritromycin (15 mu g) and vancomycin (30 mu g).Öğe Bryophyte flora of Erciyes Mountain in Turkey, with 6 bryophyte records from the country(TUBITAK SCIENTIFIC & TECHNICAL RESEARCH COUNCIL TURKEY, 2014) Kara, Recep; Ezer, Tulay; Can Gozcu, Merve; Bozdogan, Sadiye GulIn this study, the bryophyte flora of Erciyes Mountain was investigated. Corda) Against Human Periferal Blood Lymphocytes(2020) Kara, Recep; Aydın, Cansu; Diler, Songül BudakPale Liverwort-Chiloscyphus polyanthos is one of the most common aquatic liverworts that growing in or near the watering streams and lakes. It typically formed extensive matting appearance in the water or on the boulders in the water. In this study, Chiloscyphus polyanthos collected from the Erciyes Mountain were extracted using ethyl acetate, methanol, and water-methanol solvents. Cytotoxic and genotoxic effects of extracts against human peripheral blood lymphocytes were investigated. The genotoxic activity was determined by using the Chromosome Aberration Test. The cytotoxic activities of the extracts were determined by the Mitotic index (MI). The results showed that the extracts had cytotoxic effect and not genotoxic effect. According to this result, we estimate that Chiloscyphus polyanthos can be used as medicinal plant.Öğe Decolorization of doracryl blue and astrozon red by Chiloscyphus polyanthos(CURRENT BIOLOGY LTD, 2013) Onat, Tuba Artan; Cakirgoz, Merve; Kara, Recep[Abstract Not Available]Öğe Investigation of antimicrobial activity of some Turkish pleurocarpic mosses(ACADEMIC JOURNALS, 2011) Colak, Emel; Kara, Recep; Ezer, Tulay; Celik, Gokcen Yuvali; Elibol, BusraIn this study, the antimicrobial activities of different extracts from the five pleurocarpic mosses (Platyhypnidium riparioides (Hedw.)
