A New Integrated Multi-Criteria Decision-Making Model for Sustainable Supplier Selection Based on a Novel Grey WISP and Grey BWM Methods
(Mdpi, 2022) Ulutas, Alptekin; Topal, Ayse; Pamucar, Dragan; Stevic, Zeljko; Karabasevic, Darjan; Popovic, Gabrijela
Supplier selection is an important task in supply chain management, as suppliers have a vital role in the success of organisations in a supply chain. Sustainability has emerged as a solution to decreasing resources and increasing environmental and social problems in the past few decades. It has been applied to various industrial operations, one of them is supplier selection, to mitigate unwanted effects in the future. Sustainable supplier selection is a complicated multi-criteria decision making problem, including several criteria from economic, environmental, and social perspectives. To deal with subjective judgements of decision makers, fuzzy and grey methods are widely used in multi-criteria decision making, In the case of small, limited, and incomplete data, the grey theory provides satisfactory results, compared to fuzzy methods. Therefore, this study is an integrated method including grey Best-Worst Method (BWM) and grey Weighted Sum-Product (WISP) for choosing the most sustainable supplier for a textile manufacturer, which includes three main criteria and twelve sub-criteria. According to the result of the proposed model, the supplier with the best performance was determined to be the supplier with the SP2 coded. The results of the developed model were shown to the experts, and the accuracy of the results was confirmed. According to the experts, a higher amount of product can be purchased from the supplier with the SP2 code, and a tighter relationship can be worked with this supplier. The contributions of this study are: (1) Develop a new grey MCDM model called Grey WISP. (2) Create a new integrated MCDM model with grey theory, BWM, and WISP methods that can be applied to assess supplier sustainability using this hybrid model. The proposed model can be used not just for selecting sustainable suppliers, but also for any other decision problems that have multiple criteria and alternatives. The findings suggest that the Grey WISP method achieved accurate results.

A new integrated rough multi-criteria decision-making model for enterprise resource planning software selection
(Peerj Inc, 2024) Cao, Bing; Jin, Yongsheng; Uluta, Alptekin; Topal, Ayse; Stevic, Zeljko; Karabasevic, Darjan; Sava, Cipriana
Enterprise resource planning (ERP) is widely used to boost the total market power of businesses. The wrong selection is one of the key reasons why ERP installations fail. Due to the complexity of the business environment and the range of ERP systems, choosing an ERP system is a complex and time-consuming procedure. ERP alternatives may be assessed using several criteria, so the ERP selection process may be considered a multicriteria decision-making (MCDM) problem. In this study, the rough best worst method (BWM) was used to determine criteria weights, while the newly developed rough integrated simple weighted sum product (WISP) was used to rank ERP alternatives. Results suggest that the SFT -4 coded software is regarded as the best option, followed by SFT -5, SFT -6, SFT -2, SFT -3, and SFT -1. Results of the newly developed rough WISP method are compared to those of existing rough techniques in the sensitivity analysis. The differences between them have been found to be negligible. The outcomes show how effectively developed rough BWM and WISP integrated method performs in terms of ERP selection with usability, accuracy, ease of use, and consistency. This study will help decision-makers in a context where ERP is implemented choose the best ERP software for different sectors.

Criteria for selection of transportation vehicles according to cargo companies using fuzzy methods
(IGI Global, 2021) Topal, Ayşe; Yürüyen, Ali Aygün; Ulutaş, Alptekin; Karabasevic, Darjan; Karaköy, Çağatay
Freight transportation is one of the most important and costly operations in logistics as economy and society are significantly depended on freight transportation for the sustainability of life. Vehicle selection in freight transportation is a crucial and strategic decision as it requires high investments, and if the desired performance cannot be achieved from these vehicles, which were bought at a high expense, they would inevitably be idle. Vehicle selection problem in logistics is essentially a multi-criteria decision problem as it consists of several criteria, some conflicting with each other. The aim of this research is to find out which criteria freight companies value the most when assessing and selecting the vehicles they use on the road by using fuzzy BWM and fuzzy SWARA methods. Since the number of studies using fuzzy BWM and fuzzy SWARA is low in the literature and there are few studies in the literature related to transportation vehicle selection in the logistics, this study will contribute to the literature. © 2021, IGI Global.

Prioritization of Logistics Risks with Plithogenic PIPRECIA Method
(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2022) Ulutaş, Alptekin; Topal, Ayse; Karabasevic, Darjan; Stanujkic, Dragisa; Popovic, Gabrijela; Smarandache, Florentin
Rapidly changing markets, actors, new legal regulations, information and data intensity have increased uncertainty, and as a result, businesses that want to continue operating in the market need to pay more attention to risk criteria. Risk can be explained as unplanned event which affects a business’s overall performance. Logistics practices that develop and change continuously show a great variety such as weather and road accidents to faults in operations. Logistics risks have important roles in supply chains efficiency as the risks in logistics may adversely affect all parts of the supply chains and lead to decreases in business performances. Multi-criteria decision making methods are commonly used in risk prioritisation. In this study, a newly developed method called Plithogenic PIvot Pairwise RElative Criteria Importance Assessment (PIPRECIA) Method is used to prioritise logistics risks. For identifying weights, data were collected from three experts in the logistics field. Six logistics risks were considered and according to the results of Plithogenic PIPRECIA Transportation-related risk is determined as the most significant risk. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Selection of a Forklift for a Cargo Company with Fuzzy BWM and Fuzzy MCRAT Methods
(Mdpi, 2023) Ulutas, Alptekin; Topal, Ayse; Karabasevic, Darjan; Balo, Figen
Material handling is a cost-intensive operation for businesses. There are several alternative types of equipment for material handling, therefore it is important to select the best one among them to decrease the cost. As there are several different alternatives and criteria which are used to assess these alternatives, multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) techniques are useful to determine the optimal material handling equipment (MHE) for businesses. In this study, fuzzy BWM for determining weights of criteria and the fuzzy Multiple Criteria Ranking by Alternative Trace (MCRAT) method have been used for ranking forklift alternatives. This study's significance in the literature will be the creation of a novel fuzzy MCDM technique with the application of fuzzy MCRAT. Furthermore, there are relatively few studies employing the MCRAT approach in the literature; therefore, this study will provide additional data and outcomes from this method to the literature. The findings present that the forklift with the code FLT-3 performed the best, whereas the forklift with the code FLT-2 had the worst performance, according to the fuzzy MCRAT technique. According to the comparison analysis, the fuzzy MCRAT produced the same results as the fuzzy ARAS and had a few subtle differences to fuzzy MARCOS.
