Öğe Assessing Kazakhstani wheat varieties by yield indicators and resistance to rust(Al-Farabi Kazakh Natl Univ, 2021) Sekerova, T. M.; Tileubayeva, Zh S.; Ydyrys, A. A.; Aitzhanova, M. O.; Bakirova, K. Sh; Mutlu, Mehmet; Admanova, G. B.According to the experts of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the annual global loss of products from diseases and pests of agricultural crops in 1986-1990 was 52.2 million from 1998-2005 from a conventional unit of grain to 70 million tons. One of the factors that reduce the yield indicators of grain crops, contributing to a sharp decrease in yield, is the rust disease, which causes damage to grain crops, except for wheat Aegilops. Elymus, Agropyron. etc. The problem of contamination of grain crops with phytopathogenic fungi is quite a serious problem for the countries of Central Asia, since, according to FAO, this region is characterized by a higher level of bread consumption per capita (about 200 kg per year), and agriculture is considered as one of the key factors of the economy. The cost of production is an economic factor and negatively affects the sustainable development of agricultural production. A comprehensive study of the source material obtained in breeding, the replacement of ineffective ones with effective ones, makes it possible to suppress the rate of development of the pathogen and prevent epiphytosis. The evolution of the adapted parasite is accompanied by the evolution of the host plant. The article examines the complex resistance of domestic and foreign wheat varieties to rust in an artificial epidemic environment. Over the years of research, a comparative analysis of the resistance of wheat varieties to diseases has been carried out. Field tolerance was noted in the varieties Almaly, Arap, Zhakut, Naz with 3-4 points, in the varieties Samar and Zhalyn with 2 points. As a result of the structural analysis of the yield of winter wheat varieties allowed for sowing in production and promising, a decrease in these indicators was found under the influence of the disease.Öğe EFFECT OF USING ROUNDHOUSE DIAGRAMS ON PRESERVICE TEACHERS' UNDERSTANDING OF ECOSYSTEM(SCI METHODICAL CTR-SCI EDUCOLOGICA, 2013) Mutlu, MehmetRoundhouse diagram is a visual tool which helps to reveal what a student think about science topics and reflects information that students organise in their mind. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of using roundhouse diagrams on prospective classroom teachers' understanding of ecosystem, food chain, energy flow and material cycles. The roundhouse diagram was used with the experimental group (n = 44), while a traditional teaching method was employed with the control group (n = 43). Environmental Achievement Test consisting of 25 questions was administered to the 87 preservice teachers as pretest and posttest. The results indicated that the use of roundhouse diagrams significantly improved prospective classroom teachers' understanding of ecosystem, food chain, energy flow and material cycles. In the light of the obtained results, some practical implications are discussed.Öğe Effect of using roundhouse diagrams on preservice teachers' understanding of ecosystem(2013) Mutlu, MehmetRoundhouse diagram is a visual tool which helps to reveal what a student think about science topics and reflects information that students organise in their mind. The phenomenographic research method was used to solicit students' views about recycling. The study was carried out with 595 eighth grade students in the 2011-2012 academic year in the city of Nigde. Research data were obtained from students via their complete sentences. In the data analysis, six different classifications of recycling were determined. The phenomenographic analyses results have yielded the following distinct definition categories. Results indicated that students considered recycling is protection of the environment, recycling is protection of nature, recycling is protection of natural resources, recycling is valuation of waste, recycling is retransformation of waste, recycling is waste recovery, recycling is transformation of waste for new reuse, recycling is cost savings. These findings were interpreted and discussed in the paper.Öğe Student's View for Using Computer Animations on Teaching Biology(Mehmet Tekerek, 2013) Yakisan, Mehmet; Yel, Mustafa; Mutlu, MehmetBiology has a very rich content in terms of concept. Students have serious difficulties on meaningful learning of biology subjects that have the dynamic structure abstract and complex, such as particularly cell division, protein synthesis, etc.. Animations, which was prepared for abstract and micro events that have some difficulties, to be learned and taught, helps students about imaging these events correctly, increasing their conceptual understanding and interests for biology courses and also helps overcome their misconception. The purpose of this study is to determine students' views about computer animations which are used by teaching of some abstract concepts in biology. The study was participated in 48 pre-service teachers studying in the first year of university. Within this research, computer animations were used in teaching the subjects related to, protein synthesis, cell division and exchange of substance across the cell membrane. Students' opinions about the animations were determined with the open-ended questions. In addition, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 6 students. As a result, most of students explain that they like teaching of biology topics by using animations, the animations contribute them to learn and comprehend the topics, and they can understand the topics and concepts which couldn't be understood before by helping animation.
