Abstract
Kıyafet değiştirme, halk anlatmalarında sıkça görülen bir motiftir. Kişilerin kıyafet değiştirmesindeki sebep, tanınmama ve çeşitli sorunları bu vasıtayla çözmedir. Masal ve halk hikâyelerinde olduğu gibi Köroğlu Destanı’nda da kıyafet değiştirme, önemli bir fonksiyon üstlenmektedir. Köroğlu’nda zor bir durumdan kurtulma, esir olan birinin kurtarılması, bilgi toplamak için kıyafet değiştirilmesi vb. sebeplerle kıyafet değiştirilir. Köroğlu’nun kıyafet değiştirmesi hâlinde Kıratı da Köroğlu gibi şeklini değiştirip derviş atına dönüşür. Köroğlu Destanı’nın birçok varyantında gerek Köroğlu, gerek Kırat ve gerekse keleşleri kıyafet değiştirilerek birçok işin üstesinden gelmişlerdir. Bu makalede, Köroğlu Destanı’nın çeşitli varyantlarında tespit edilen kıyafet (şekil) değiştirme motifi ve bu motifin fonksiyonları ele alınmıştır.
Being in disguise (in clothes which conceal one´s true identity) has been a common motive seen frequently in folk tales. The reasons why people are in disguise are to solve various problems by doing so and also not to be recognized by others. Being in disguise has an important function in Köroğlu Legend as it is in tales and folk stories. In Köroğlu Legends, disguise is adopted to get out of difficult situations, rescue captives or gather information etc. In the case of Köroğlu’s disguise, his Kırat (the name of his horse) becomes a dervish’s horse as his master does. In most of the variants of Köroğlu Legends, Köroğlu, his horse and his friends turn to disguise to get over troubles. In this paper, the disguise motives found in Köroğlu Legend and its variants and their functions have been examined.
