Bu çalışmada, kuzeydoğu Ege Denizi' nde Gökçeada-Bozcaada-Çanakkale üçgeni arasında deniz tabanından alınan 100 örnek üzerinde yapılan incelemede tanımlanan diatomelerin sadece; Çanakkale Boğazı-Ege çıkışı, Gökçeada-Bozcaada arası ve Gelibolu Yarımadası-Gökçeada arasında olmak üzere üç bölgede bulundukları belirlenmiştir. Bu bölgelerden derlenen diatome içeren 20 örnekte, 18 cinse ait 26 tür tanımlanmıştır. Tanımlanan türlerden 21 tanesi planktik, 5 tanesi bentik diatomelere aittir. Diatomelerin bulunduğu su derinliği 50 ile 80 m arasında değişmektedir. Tanımlanan türlerden ılıman-sıcak su formlarının Gökçeada-Bozcaada arasında, ılıman-serin su formlarının Gökçeada-Gelibolu Yarımadası arasında ve Gökçeada-Bozcaada arasında yoğunlaştıkları, Çanakkale Boğazı-Ege çıkışında ise, her iki grubun aynı oranda olduğu belirlenmiştir. Tanımlanan diatome türlerinin oligohalin, mesohalin ve polihalin denizel formlar oldukları, ayrıca ortamda akarsular tarafından taşınmış tatlısu formlarının da bulunduğu gözlenmiştir. Çanakkale Boğazı-Ege çıkışında oligohalin formların, Gökçeada-Bozcaada arasında oligohalin, mesohalin ve daha fazla oranda polihalin formların yeraldıklan belirlenmiştir.
in this study, 100 bottom samples collected from Gökçeada-Bozcaada-Çanakkale triangle in the northeast Aegean Sea were investigated. This investigation reveals that diatoms identified in the bottom samples exist only at three localities, such as between Dardanelles and Aegean Sea, Gökçeada and Bozcaada, and Gelibolu Peninsula and Gökçeada. 26 species of 18 genus were determined in 20 diatomous samples collected from these regions. Among the species determined, 21 species are belong to planktic diatoms and 5 are from benthic diatoms. Depth of sea water where diatoms are found ranges between 50 and 80 m. The study indicated that the temperate-warm water forms were dominant between Gökçeada and Bozcaada, while temperate-cool water forms were dominant between Gökçeada and Gelibolu Peninsula, and Gökçeada and Bozcaada. It is also noted that both groups had same proportion at the exit of Dardanelles to Aegean Sea. The observations indicated that the diatom species determined were the forms of oligohaline, mesohaline and polyhaline. In addition to these, freshwater forms carried by streams were also observed. The results of the study indicated that oligohaline, and oligohaline, mesohaline and polyhaline forms with higher proportions were found in the exit of Dardanelles to Aegean Sea, and between Gökçeada and Bozcaada, respectively,
