This research called ?Gaziantep Teacher Training School? consists of six sections. As is known, before the Turkish Republic there was a teacher training school in Gaziantep and functioned for a definite period. It was established by Aynul Maarif Association. During the War of Independence and the first years of the Turkish Republic It met the teacher needs of the Gaziantep Region. In terms of teacher education Gaziantep Teacher Training School can be traced back to that school. Gaziantep Teacher Training School was firstly founded as Gaziantep Primary Teachers? In this school seven (7) headmasters, three (3) chief headmasters, twenty-three (23) assistant headmasters, and one hundred and thirtysix (136) teachers worked between the years of 1955 and 1977. During that period two thousand and eight hundred ninety-nine (2899) students graduated from the school. Two thousand and two hundred forty three (2243) of that number was its own students and the rest of it (656 students) was external students. After 1974-75 education year matriculation was ended to the Primary Teachers? Training Schools, and Education Institutes and Teacher Colleges were founded within these schools. Between the years of 1971 and 1981 ten (10) headmasters, five (5) chief headmasters, seventy four (74) assistant headmasters, and one hundred and ninety-two (192) teachers worked for Gaziantep Education Institute. One thousand and five hundred and eighty (1580) students graduated from the Institute during that period. Eight hundred and eighty-five (885) students were transferred to Isparta. On July 1982 Education Institutions were transferred to Universities by Decree Law no: 41. Gaziantep Education Institute made the last exams in 1981 and transferred some of its students to Isparta Education Institute in 1982 and Konya Selçuk University Education Faculty in 1984. It meant that Gaziantep Education Institute was actually terminated its function. Then it was converted to Teacher Training Centre and Science College. It must be taken into consideration that these schools might be good model to inspire teaching spirit to teachers in such a time that quality of teaching and teacher are being discussed. In order to give the spirit of teacher to new teachers and to develop unity and solidarity amongst teachers we must use teacher trainings experiences of these early teacher trainings schools such as student selection, disciplined education and training, village apprenticeships, summer activities, and engraving teaching idealism. It is worth not to forget that by training teachers as well as discovering poets, artists, scientist whom could not be recognised in the time of the bad days of the country, these schools carried out a very important mission in the past.
