Özet
This study calculates local economic and employment impact of Cukurova University for 2015-2016 fiscal yearusing Keynesian multiplier method. For that, university budget expenditures data, national statistical dataresources and survey data were used. Economic impact of the university is measured by demand sideexpenditure. Keynesian income multiplier was calculated to be 1,23. Marginal propensity to consume, a keyfactor in estimating economic impact, was estimated to be 0,61 using ordinary least squares method in Eviews.This paper shows economic importance of the University to locality by estimating total local incomeand employment, and that the University makes a significant contribution to local economy. Total direct andtotal indirect impact are estimated to be ?284 and ?689 million respectively. Total local impact of theUniversity was estimated to be ?1,2 billion with an additional income of ?227 million and additionalemployment of 6874.
