Özet
Sosyal bir varlık olan birey içinde yaşadığı sosyal ortamlarla birlikte şekillenir. Bu süreçte bir çok kurumlar devreye girer. Bireyin toplumsallaşmasında rol oynayan kurumlar aynı zamanda onun kişiliğinin oluşmasında etkilidir. Bunlar içerisinde öncelikli olan ise eğitimdir. Eğitim aracılığıyla bireylerin değişen ortamlara uygun bilgi ve becerilerle donatılması önemlidir. Gerçekleştirilmeye çalışılan değişim sürecinde toplumsal yapıyı oluşturan unsurların dikkate alınması, değişimin yönünü belirlemede etkili olmaktadır. Toplumun temel dinamiklerinin, kültürel unsurların, değerlerin dikkate alınması değişimin başarısında etkili olmaktadır. Bunun yapılmasında ise eğitim ve dolayısıyla eğitim kurumları birinci derecede rol oynar.
As individuals are also social beings, they get shaped through an interaction with social environment surrounding them. Various social institutions have an impact on this process not only in terms of socializing individuals into society but also forming their unique personalities. Education might be the most important of all these institutions as it is essential to equip people with necessary skills and knowledge in order to prepare them to deal with the varying social circumstances. Besides, taking the components of social structures into consideration during this preparation process would be effective on achieving positive social transformation of individuals. On the other hand, fundamental dynamics of society, elements of culture, and social values also have to be taken into account for the success. Therefore, it could be said that education and educational institutions play a major role on attaining desired socialization outcomes.
