Özet
Bu tez, Mersin'in Erdemli ilçesine bağlı 48 köyden derlenen yer adlarıyla oluşturulmuş bir adbilim çalışmasıdır. Erdemli ilçesinin köyleri gezilerek, halkla görüşülmüş ve 1279 yer adı tespit edilmiştir. Derlenen yer adları sınıflandırılmış, anlam bilimsel açıdan ve gramer bakımından incelenmiştir. Tezin "Giriş" bölümünde Yer Ad Bilimi'nin amacı ve önemine değinilmiştir. Çalışmanın yöntemi ve sınırlılığı hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. Daha sonra Yer Adı Bilimi'nin tanımına yer verilmiş ve Erdemli ilçesinin tarihi ve coğrafyası anlatılmıştır. Birinci bölümde derlenen malzemeler yedi ana başlıkta toplanmıştır. İkinci bölümde, kaynak kişilerin verdiği bilgiler doğrultusunda yer adlarının anlamları ve veriliş sebepleri tespit edilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde ise yer adlarının gramer yapısı incelenmiştir. Yer adları yapısına göre basit, türemiş ve birleşik olmak üzere sınıflandırılmıştır. Son bölümde, Erdemli ilçesi yer adlarında görülen coğrafi terim niteliğindeki kelimeler ve yöresel sözcüklerden oluşan sözlük hazırlanmıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı; yazılı ve resmi kayıtlara geçmemiş yer adlarını ve bu adlarda kullanılan unutulmaya yüz tutmuş kelimeleri kayıt altına almak ve Türk milletinin yer adı verme kültürünün belirlenmesine katkıda bulunmaktır. This thesis is an onomastic study created with place names compiled from 48 villages of Erdemli district of Mersin. Villages of Erdemli district were visited, people were interviewed and 1279 place names were determined. The compiled place names were classified and analyzed in terms of semantics and grammar. In the "Introduction" section of the thesis, the purpose and importance of Toponymy is mentioned. Information was given about the method and strictness of the study. Then, the definition of Toponymy is given and the history and geography of Erdemli district is explained. The materials compiled in the first chapter are grouped under seven main headings. In the second section, the meanings of my place names and the reasons for giving them were determined in line with the information given by the source persons. In the third section, the grammatical structure of place names has been examined. Place names are classified according to their structure as simple, derived and compound. In the last section, a dictionary consisting of geographical terms and local words seen in the place names of Erdemli district has been prepared. The aim of this study; to record the written and unregistered place names and the forgotten words used in these names, and to contribute to the determination of the Turkish nation's placename culture.
