The aim of this study is to search for the geograpfical properties of Azatlıwhich is situated in Çiftlik Niğde. The study is in the province of Niğde, Middle Kızılırmak in the central Anatolia. AzatlıTown is placed on Çiftlik grassy plain covered with Melendiz Mountains. It is under the effect of terrestrial climate. Plant cover is sparsely vegetated plain as parallel with climate. Forests cover has gained relict characteristic as a result of destructions. The dominant types of soils in the town are; alluvial soils, collivial soils, brown forest soils lacking in lime and brown soils lacking in lime. Uluırmak River and its side branches which also form a branch of Melendiz Creek have shown itself by hydrographical properties. While the town has been showing a rural characteristic because of its population structure, there has been seen a transition from rural structure to urban structure in settlement and habitation properties. Agriculture and stockbreeding form the basic means of living of native population. Potato farming is especially in the foreground among agricultural products. Residence in the town has become concentrated on Niğde - Çiftlik Highway. The most important environmental problem in the town is water pollution. While important days regarding its cultural life has been shaped according to its traditional customs; anonymous works of art such as legends, barrier (a traditional Turkish quatrain form), lullabies, fables, etc. have reached at present and taken place in today?s cultural structure. In the town whose physical, human, socio-economical and socio-cultural structures have being researched, besides its current potential, various suggestions have been presented in order to protect and develop this potential.
