Students studying chemistry at high schools and in the chemistry departments of universities are required to conduct laboratory work as part of their course. As a result of their lab work, the students are exposed to various chemical substances. Inhalation of these chemicals constitutes a serious health concern. In order to determine the extent to which chemistry students are affected by chemical inhallation during the course of their work, peripheral blood cells will be collected for chromosomal aberration genotoxicity tests for his study. The subjects will be chosen from years 1-4 students attending the Chemistry Department of the Faculity of Science and Literature at the University of Nigde. In this study, Department of Chemistry, Nigde University, Faculty of Science students In the control group, students are not exposed to chemicals that were used in the peripheral blood. Control group and experimental group of cells derived from the analysis of chromosome aberrations and mitotic index was determined by. The data obtained from these two groups were compared by t-test. In the statistical comparison, the control group students according to the chemistry lab work, not increased chromosomal abnormalities and mitotic index were not changed significantly.
