Bu çalışma Niğde yöresinde Babesia ovis enfeksiyonunun mikroskobik ve serolojik prevalansını tespit etmek amacıyla bir yaşın üzerindeki 110 koyun ve 46 keçide yapılmıştır. Sonuçta, Babesia ovis'in prevalansı koyunlarda mikroskobik olarak %12,72, serolojik olarak İFA testi ile %23,63, keçilerde mikroskobik olarak %2,17, serolojik olarak İFA testi ile %34,78 olarak saptanmıştır.
This study was made in the area of Niğde to determine the prevalence of Babesia ovis infection in 110 sheep and 46 goats over one year of age. In the sheep, the prevalence of B. ovis was found to be 12.72% by microscopy and 23.63%' with the IFA test. In goats, the prevalence of B. ovis was found to be 2.17% by microscopy and 34.78% with the IFA test.
