In the M.sC thesis, the antimicrobial activity of Ballota macrodonta and Sideritis pholomoides which are endemic for Niğde region was determined as the effect of disc diffusion and minimum inhibitory concentration methods. The antimicrobial activity defined as the extracts of plants were prepared with maceration method. The extracts prepared with ethanol, methanol, distilled water, acetone and chloroform at 30, 40, 50?C and 2, 3, 4, 5 hour periods. The most effectine extract was formulated at 40oC with ethanol from Ballota macrodonta. Moreover the flowers and leafs of Sideritis phlomoides were showed similar antimicrobial effects. The Proteus mirabilis 235 determined as the most sensitive strain, and the Candida albicans was determined as the most resistant strain for antimicrobial activity of Ballota macrodonta and Sideritis phlomoides …
