Özet
The study aimed to develop pre-service teachers' skills, awareness and positive attitudes toward basic human rights and freedoms. In order to achieve this, one -group pretest-posttest design was used. Participants of the study were 5 males and 14 females, in total 19, volunteer first-grade pre-service teachers from the Computer Education and Instructional Technology Department, Faculty of Educational Sciences, Ankara University in the 2012-2013 academic year, spring semester. Data of the study were gathered using Attitude Scale for Human Rights Education, Teacher Opinionnaire on Democracy and Semi-structured Interview Schedule; they were analyzed by Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test and content analyses. Results of the study showed that creative drama is an effective method for developing skills, awareness and positive attitudes toward basic human rights.
