Özet
Objective: The study examined the prevalence and risk factors of hypertension in climacteric women living in rural areas of Türkiye. Material and Methods: It is a descriptive-relational study. This study found that hypertension prevalence was 40.8% with a confi- dence level of 95%, a test power of 95.98%, and an effect size of d=0.20, resulting in a sample size of 84. Post-hoc power analysis revealed a power of 99.99% with a sample size of 348. The researcher used a face- to-face questionnaire to gather data from 348 women who applied to the family health center and met the inclusion criteria. The data was ana- lyzed using the IBM SPSS Statistics 23 software package, employing t- tests, chi-square tests, and binary logistic regression analysis. Results: The study found that one out of three climacteric women had hyperten- sion and that the majority of those who weren’t aware had pre-hyper- tension or Stage 1 hypertension. In addition, hypertension was found to be significantly higher in climacteric women aged 56 to 64 who were married, did not consume fruit and vegetables regularly, and had been menopausal for 1 to 5 years (p<0.05), and it was more common in older, married, chronically ill, and obese women. Conclusion: Women in the climacteric period who have hypertension should receive information and awareness-raising services on the associated risk factors.
