| dc.description.abstract | İktisat'ın bir bilim dalı olarak ortaya çıkmasında, 1776 yılında yayınlanan Adam Smith'in ünlü eseri 'Ulusların Zenginliği' önemli bir yer tutmaktadır. Bu eserde, modern iktisat yazınında yer alan birçok kavrama ilişkin tanımlara ulaşmak mümkün olmaktadır. Ulusların Zenginliği'nde yer alan ve açıklanmaya çalışılan kavramlardan biri de faizdir. Adam Smith Ulusların Zenginliği'nde bir yandan faiz kavramını geliştirirken, bir yandan da, hem İngiltere ve hem de diğer ülkelerde geçerli olan faiz oranları üzerinde durmuştur. Ancak Smith'in bahsettiği ülkeler arasında Osmanlı İmparatorluğu bulunmamaktadır. Bu makalede Smith'in Ulusların Zenginliği'nde geliştirdiği "faiz" kavramı ele alınmış ve daha sonra da Osmanlı ekonomisinde geçerli yaiz oranları" ile bir karşılaştırma yapılmıştır. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Adam Smith's remarkable work, "The Wealth of Nations" is being considered to be the foundation of economy as a scientific discipline since its first publishing in 1776. This very book makes possible to reach many definitions relating to the conceptions in the literature of modern economics. One of the concepts that has been sought to be explained in "The Wealth of Nations" is; interest. While Adam Smith was developing the conceptual texture of interest in his book, he also focused on the effective inte-rest rates of both England and some other countries. However, Ottoman Empire was not taken into consideration amond these countries by Smith. This study aims to discuss, the conceptualisation of "interest" in Smith's work and then, to compare the effective interest rates of Ottoman economy. | |
