Ekim 1997 tarihinden Ocak 1998'e kadar Niğde Kız Sabancı Yurdu öğrencilerine ait 188 dışkı örneği nativ-lugpol ve formol eter çöktürme teknikleri ile bağırsak parazitleri yönünden incelenmiştir. Yaşları 17-25 arasında değişen öğrencilerin 33 (%17,5)'ünde enfeksiyon saptanmıştır. Sap'tanan bütün parazitlerin 28 (%14.89)'i helmint, 6 (%3,19)'sı protozoondur. Parazitlerin türlere göre dağılımı; Ascaris lurabricoides%11.7, Trichuris trichiura %2,65, Enterobius vermicularis%1.6, Taenia saginata %1,06, Entamoeba histolytica %2.12 ve Giardia intestinales %1,06 şeklindedir. Öğrencilerin 31 tanesinde ise klinik bulgu saptanmıştır,
From October, 1997 to January, 1998, a total of 188 stool specimens taken from the students of Sabacı Dormitory in Niğde were examined for the presence of the intestinal parasites using native-Lugol and formalin-ether sedimentation techniques, Thirty-three 33 (17.5%) out of 188 students, between 17-25 years of age, were found to be infected with intestinal parasites. Only helminth species were found in 28 samples (14.28%), and only protozoon species in 6 samples (3.19%). The prevalence was as follows: Ascaris lumbricoides 11.7%; Trichuris trichiura, 2,65%; Enterobius vermicularis, 1.6%; Taenia saginata, 1.06%; Entamoeba histolytica, 2.12%; and Giardia intestinalis, 1.06%. Clinical symptoms were observed in 31 of the infected students.
