Özet
Türk folklorunun önde gelen alanlarından olmasına karşın günümüz şartlarında modern tıptaki imkân ve ilerlemelerin artması sonucu halk hekimliğinin uygulama sahası bir hayli daralmıştır. Kültürel değerlerin birçoğunda olduğu gibi halk hekimliği uygulamaları da unutulma tehlikesi ile karşı karşıya kalmıştır. Yüzyıllardan süzülerek gelen ve halkın sosyal, dinî ve kültürel yapısına ışık tutabilecek olan halk hekimliği uygulamalarını gün yüzüne çıkarmak, koruma altına almak ve varlığını sürdürmek son derece önemlidir. Zengin bir kültüre sahip olan Mardin'in Midyat ilçesinde bu zenginliğin gerektiği kadar değerlendirilmediği hakikatinden hareketle çalışmamızda Midyat mahalli halk tababeti ögelerine ulaşılmış, toplanan ürünler derlenip yazıya geçirilmiştir. Bu suretle Midyat'ın öncelikle Güneydoğu Anadolu ardından Anadolu kültüründeki durumunun tayin edilmesine fayda sağlayacak bu zengin mirasın; sonraki nesillere ulaştırılması, unutulmaması ve daha sonra bu konuyla alakalı yapılacak çalışmalara ışık tutması amaçlanmıştır. Geçmişten günümüze kadar gelen köklü bir kültürel zenginliğe sahip olan Midyat'ta gelişen teknolojiye rağmen kültürel unsurların korunduğu bir yaşam tarzının sürdürüldüğü görülmektedir. Bölge halkının hastalıklar karşısında, modern tıp teknikleri yanında kültürel deneyim sonucu ortaya çıkan halk hekimliğinin pratik tedavi yöntemlerine de başvurduğu görülmektedir. Bu çalışmada saha araştırması sonucu ve konuyla ilgili kitap, dergi ve akademik çalışmaların gözden geçirilmesiyle tespit edilen ürünler, sınıflandırma ile çözümleme yoluna gidilerek Midyat halk tababetinin Türk dünyasındaki konumu ve ehemmiyeti saptanmaya çalışılmıştır. Çalışmada genel itibariyle halk hekimlerinin tedavi pratik ve metotları ortaya çıkarılmış ayrıca aynı hastalıklara karşı uyguladıkları yöntem farklılıkları gösterilmiştir. Araştırma alanındaki halk tababeti pratik ve sağaltım metotlarının elde edilmesiyle bu pratiklerdeki eski Türk inanışlarına, Türk halk anlatılarına, mitolojiye bununla birlikte Eski Mezopotamya, Hitit, Mısır uygarlıklarına ait izler sürülerek bunların halk hekimliğindeki yansımaları ortaya çıkarılmaya çalışılmıştır. Böylelikle bu kültürel zenginliklerden gelecek nesillerin istifade etmesi hedeflenmiştir. Anahtar Kelimeler: Halk hekimliği, Midyat, Türk folkloru, hastalık, tedavi.
Although it is one of the leading fields of Turkish folklore, the field of application of folk medicine has narrowed considerably as a result of the increase in opportunities and advances in modern medicine in today's conditions. As with many of the cultural values, folk medicine practices have also faced the danger of being forgotten. It is extremely important to unearth, protect and maintain the practices of folk medicine that filtered through the centuries and can shed light on the social, religious and cultural structure of the people. Based on the fact that this richness is not sufficiently evaluated in the Midyat district of Mardin, which has a rich culture, in this study, the elements of folk medicine in the region were reached, the products obtained were compiled and written down. In this way, this rich heritage, which will contribute to the determination of Midyat's place first in the Southeastern Anatolian culture and then in the Anatolian culture; It is aimed to transfer to future generations, not to be forgotten, and then to be useful for researches on this field. In Midyat, which has a deep-rooted cultural richness from the past to the present, it is seen that a lifestyle in which cultural elements are preserved despite the developing technology. It is seen that the people of the region resort to the practical treatment methods of folk medicine, which first emerged as a result of an appropriate cultural experience, despite modern medical techniques. In the study, the place and importance of Midyat folk medicine in the Turkish world has been tried to be determined by the field research, the material, classification and analysis obtained by scanning the periodicals published in the region or which are still being published. In the research, the technique, method and application style of folk medicine performers were revealed and the differences between the performers were also shown. By determining the folk medicine practices and treatment methods in the research area, traces of ancient Turkish beliefs, Turkish folk narratives, mythology, as well as Ancient Mesopotamian, Hittite and Egyptian civilizations in these practices were tried to be revealed, and their reflections in folk medicine were tried to be revealed. Thus, it is aimed that future generations will benefit from these cultural riches. Key words: Folk medicine, Midyat, Turkish folklore, disease, treatment.
