But eti ve deri L a b değerleri gruplar arasında farklılık göstermemiştir. Göğüs eti L (parlaklık), a (kırmızılık) değerleri bakımından gruplar arasında farklılık bulunmazken b (sarılık) değeri kontrol, %0.5 ve %1 polen katkılı gruplarda daha yüksek bulunmuştur (P<0.05). Sonuç olarak polen tozunun bıldırcınlarda kullanımının performans ve karkas özellikleri üzerine olumlu etkisinin olmadığı belirlenmiştir.
The aim of this study was to determine the effects of adding bee pollen to Japanese quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica) compound feed on performance, carcass parameters and meat quality. For this purpose, 192 quail chicks were divided into 4 groups and each group was formed from 4 replications. In the study, honey bee pollen powder was added to the mixed feed at a rate of 0, 0.5, 1.0 and 1.5%. At the end of the study, no difference was found between the treatment groups with pollen powder in terms of feed consumption, live weight gain and feed conversion rates (P>0.05). Only carcass yield and breast ratio were statistically different between the groups in terms of carcass characteristics (P<0.05). The effect of pollen contribution on breast peroxide and TBA values was also found to be insignificant (P>0.05). Leg meat and skin L a b values did not differ between groups. While there was no difference between the groups in terms. of breast meat L (brightness), a (redness) values, the b (yellowness) value was higher in the control, 0.5% and 1% pollen added groups (P<0.05). As a conclusion, it was obtained that the use of pollen powder in quails did not have a positive effect on performance and carcass characteristics.
