Özet
Niğde, tarihi Neolitik Çağa kadar geri giden bir geçmişe sahiptir. Niğde sırasıyla Hitit, Asur, Pers, Helen, Roma, Selçuklular, Eratnalılar, Karamanoğulları ve Osmanlı hâkimiyeti altında yaşamış, tarihi eserleriyle adeta açık hava müzesidir. Niğde hem Osmanlı hem de Cumhuriyet dönemlerinde eğitim ve öğretim faaliyetlerinin canlı olduğu, halkın eğitime önem verdiği bir şehirdir. Osmanlı döneminde XIX. yüzyıl öncesinde ağırlıklı olarak mahalle/sıbyan mektepleri ve medreseler aracılığıyla eğitim yapılmaktaydı. XIX. yüzyılda Osmanlı Devleti'ndeki modernleşmeye koşut olarak eğitimde modernleşmeye başladı. Mahalle mektepleri sıbyan mekteplerine daha sonra da ibtidai mekteplerine dönüştü. Ardından rüşdiye mektepleri, idadiler, sultaniler ve darülfünun ile bu modernleşme sistemli bir hale dönüştü. Osmanlı döneminde bir sancak merkezi olan Niğde, sıbyan ve ibtidai mektepleri, rüşdiye mektebi, idadi ve darülmuallimin mektepleri ile eğitim faaliyetlerine dâhil oldu. Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nin kuruluş yıllarında Niğde, okullaşma ile beraber kız ve erkek öğrenci sayılarının artan bir ivme ile çoğaldığı bir sürece girdi. Cumhuriyetin İlk Yıllarında Niğde'de Eğitim ve Öğretim başlıklı tez çalışmasında Niğde'nin eğitim ve öğretim alanındaki gelişmeler, okullaşma seviyesi, öğrenci sayıları anlatılmıştır.
Niğde has a history that goes back to the Neolithic Age. Niğde lived under Hittite, Assyrian, Persian, Helen, Roman, Seljuks, Eratnans, Karamanoğulları and Ottoman rule respectively, it is almost an open air museum with its historical artifacts. In Niğde is a city where the public attaches importance to education, education and training activities were lively in both Ottoman and Republic periods. In the Ottoman period, before the 19th century, education was carried out mainly through neighborhood/primary schools and madrasas. In the 19th century, modernization in education began in parallel with the modernization in the Ottoman Empire. Neighborhood schools turned into primary schools and later into primary school. Afterwards, this modernization became a systematic with the secondary schools, high schools, sultanis and darülfünun. Niğde, which was a sanjak center during the Ottoman period, was involved in educational activities with primary and secondary schools, high school, school of administration and schools of the school . Nigde in the founding years of the Republic of Turkey, together with her schooling and entered into a period with increasing momentum that multiplies the number of male and female students. In the thesis titled Education and Training in Niğde in the First Years of the Republic, developments in the field of education and training in Niğde, the level of schooling, and the number of students were explained.
