Özet
Yaşlılık, insan doğasının kaçınılmaz süreçlerinden birisidir. Her insanın yaşayacağı biyo-fizyolojik, mental ve sosyo-psikolojik değişmelerin söz konusu olduğu bu süreç bir yerde insanın yazgısıdır. Literatür incelendiğinde, yazılı tarihin bize aktardığı kaynaklara bakıldığında farklı toplum yapılarında ve farklı zaman dilimlerinde söz konusu olguyla ilgili algı farklılıklarına rastlarız. Kimi toplumlarda yaşlı bireyler birer problem olarak algılanırken kimi toplumlarda ise akıl danışılacak, bilgisine ve tecrübesine başvurulacak bireyler olarak kabul edildikleri görülür. Bu çalışmada tarihsel süreç içerisinde ortaya çıkan bu farklılıkların nedenleri belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu çerçevede birinci bölümde çalışmanın kapsamı, metodu, konusu, amacı ve önemine yer verilmiştir. İkinci bölümde, yaşlılık kavramı tanımlanmış, yaşlıların yaşadıkları çeşitli problemler ve dünyada ve Türkiye'de yaşlılık konusuna değinilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde, yaşlılık kuramlarından bahsedilmiş bu bağlamda biyolojik ve sosyal kuramlara yer verilmiştir. Dördüncü bölümde, yaşlılığın toplumsal dönüşümü üzerinde durulmuş, bu çerçevede geleneksel ve modern toplumda yaşlılık konusuna değinilmiştir. Beşinci bölümde, yaşlılık olgusuyla ilgili yasal düzenlemelere yer verilmiştir. Altıncı bölümde, dünyada ve Türkiye'de yaşlılara yönelik yapılan uygulamalardan bahsedilmiş ve dünyadaki bazı ülkelerden örnekler verilmiştir. Yine bu bölümde Türkiye'de yaşlılara yönelik yapılan yaşlı bakım uygulamaları ve sosyal güvenlik ve politikalardan bahsedilmiştir. Yedinci ve son bölümde ise sonuç ve önerilere yer verilmiştir.
Ageing is one of the inevitable processes of human nature. This process, in which there are bio-physiological, mental and socio-psychological changes that every person will experience, is in a way the fate of the human being. When the literature and the sources conveyed to us by the written history are examined, we find differences in perception regarding the ageing phenomenon in different social structures and different time periods. While in some societies elderly individuals are perceived as a problem, in some societies they are accepted as individuals to be asked for advice and whose knowledge and experience can be consulted. In this study, it has been tried to determine the reasons for these differences that emerged in the historical process. In this context, in the first chapter, the scope, method, subject, purpose and importance of the study are mentioned. In the second chapter the concept of ageing is defined and various problems faced by the elderly and ageing phenomenon in the world and Turkey are mentioned. In the third chapter, theories of ageing are discussed and in this context biological and social theories are mentioned. In the fourth chapter, legal regulations on the phenomenon of ageing are included. Also the practices conducted in the world and in Turkey for the elderly are mentioned and examples of some countries are mentioned. Again in this chapter, elderly care and social security practices and policies conducted for the elderly in Turkey are mentioned. In the fifth chapter, the structural transformation of ageing is emphasized and within this regard, the issue of ageing in traditional and modern socities is mentioned. Then the results and suggestions were given.
