Ortaokul öğrencilerinin buharlaşma ve kaynama kavramlarına ilişkin bilgi yapılarının analizi

| dc.description.abstract | Bu araştırmanın amacı, öğrencilerin günlük deneyimlerinin fazla olduğu buharlaşma ve kaynama kavramlarına ilişkin bilgi yapılarının teori nitelikli mi yoksa parça nitelikli mi olduğunu tespit etmektir. Araştırmanın örneklemini Niğde ili Bor ilçesinde bulunan bir ortaokuldan amaçlı olarak seçilen 127 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Amaca uygun şekilde öğrencilerin bilgi yapılarını ortaya çıkarabilmek için aynı bilgiyi ölçen ama farklı bağlamlara veya durumlara sahip olan açık uçlu 13 soru seti hazırlanmıştır. Öğrencilerle birebir görüşme yapılarak sorular aynı sırayla tüm öğrencilere yöneltilmiştir. Görüşmeler araştırmacı tarafından not edilerek kayıt altına alınmıştır. Görüşmeler tamamlandıktan sonra veriler temalara ayrılarak kodlanmıştır. Bu kodlara bağlı olarak her bir öğrencinin soru seti boyunca cevaplarında ne kadar tutarlı veya tutarsız olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Öğrencilerin geneline bakıldığında "Buharlaşma ve Sıcaklık İlişkisi" kategorisinde soru seti boyunca öğrencilerin %37,79'unun cevapları tutarlılık gösterirken %62,21'inin cevapları tutarsızlık göstermiştir. "Buharlaşma ve Kaynama İlişkisi" kategorisinde soru seti boyunca öğrencilerin %24,40'ının cevapları tutarlılık gösterirken %75,6'sının cevapları tutarsızlık göstermiştir. "Buharlaşma ve Kaynama Olaylarının Gerçekleşme Yeri" kategorisinde soru seti boyunca öğrencilerin %33,85'inin cevapları tutarlılık gösterirken %66,15'inin cevapları tutarsızlık göstermiştir. "Günlük Hayattan Örneklerle Buharlaşma ve Isı Alışverişi" kategorisinde soru seti boyunca öğrencilerin %3,93'ünün cevapları tutarlılık gösterirken %96,07'sinin cevapları tutarsızlık göstermiştir. "Bir Eşya İçindeki Sıvının Buharlaşması" kategorisinde soru seti boyunca öğrencilerin %35,43'ünün cevapları tutarlılık gösterirken %64,57'sinin cevapları tutarsızlık göstermiştir. Bu sonuçlar öğrencilerin buharlaşma ve kaynama kavramları konusundaki bilgi yapısının parça nitelikli bilgi yapısı ile örtüştüğünü göstermektedir. Öğrencilerin sınıf seviyeleri bazında gelişim düzeyleri ile buharlaşma ve kaynama kavramlarına ilişkin bilgi yapıları arasında "Buharlaşma ve Sıcaklık İlişkisi" ve "Bir Eşya İçindeki Sıvının Buharlaşması" kategorilerinde anlamlı bir fark varken diğer kategorilerde böyle bir ilişkinin olmadığı tespit edilmiştir. | |
| dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this research is to determine whether students' knowledge structures about the concepts of evaporation and boiling, in which their daily experiences are riche, are in the forms of theory like or knowledge in pieces. The sample of the research is composed of 127 students who are purposefully selected from a middle school in the province of Bor, Niğde. In order to expose the knowledge structures of students appropriately, 13 sets of open-ended questions, which measure the same knowledge in different contexts or situations, have been developed. The questions were asked to all students in the same sequence, with one-on-one interviews. The students' responses were noted by the researcher. After the interviews were completed, the data were coded by separating into theme. Depending on these codes, it was determined how consistent or inconsistent each student was throughout the question set. In "Evaporation and Temperature Relationship" category, 37.79% of the students' responses were consistent and 62.21% of the students' responses were inconsistent across contexts. In "Evaporation and Boiling Relation" category, 24.40% of the students' responses were consistent and 75,6% of the students' responses were inconsistent across contexts. In "Place of Realization of Evaporation and Boiling Events" category, 33.85% of the students' responses were consistent and 66.15% of the students' responses were inconsistent across contexts. In "Daily Life Examples to Evaporation and Heat Exchange" category, 3.93% of the students' responses were consistent while 96.77% of the students' responses were inconsistent across contexts. In "Evaporation of Liquid in an Object" category, 35.43% of the students' responses were consistent and 64.57% of the students' responses were inconsistent across contexts. These results indicate that the knowledge structure of the students about the concepts of evaporation and boiling overlaps with the knowledge in pieces perspective. In terms of "Evaporation and Temperature Concepts" and "Evaporation of Liquid in an Object" categories, a significant relationship was found between students' level of development and knowledge structures. No relationship were found between students' level of development and knowledge structures in other categories. | |
