Like in every period, it is also seen in the antiquity (ancient times) that people lived in accordance with geographical conditions and their means of livelihood were conformed to those conditions. Civilizations who survived in Anatolia, surrounding civilizations and other influential civilizations were shaped their life styles in accordance with climate conditions and geographical conditions of region where they were. Means of livings of states lived in this period of time were mostly agriculture and stockbreeding. Beside agriculture and stockbreeding, they also maintained their life with mining, land and sea trade. So they built the Royal Road. Many objects that we have been using now came from that period by developing until today. While there was exchange system in trade at the beginning, coins replaced with exchange due to the invention of money by the Lydian and it was initiated to use money. As a result of trade made, it was seen that there was corruption at that period of time. In addition to that, a certain amounts of tax were taken from merchants. One of the most important inventions was the writing. Invention of writing by the Sumerians provided us to have knowledge of those periods. Calendar that we are using today, development of mathematics, studies about astronomy all came from those periods by developing until today. For that purpose, in the first part, it was emphasized on economic lives of Anatolian civilizations in the antiquity, surrounding civilizations and their influences on Anatolia, and the means of livelihood of these civilizations was the topic of the second part. In the last part of the study, other influential civilizations were discussed.
